Yea we are morons for using Shannon's past play to predict how he will play this season. Easy to say that after hes clearly improved and isn't the same player we were evaluating before. |
Actually I have been saying it since about two weeks after he joined the team.
It was obvious to anyone who knows anything about basketball that he is and always was LIGHT YEARS ahead of LG hero Sasha Vujacic.
And his play has been excellent overall since joining the team, he went through one bad shooting stretch last season when he was playing through injury with a mangled shooting hand.
But you knew that right? Somehow I doubt it. |
Shannon's play last year, especially in the playoffs was far from excellent. The way he is playing now is excellent.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think LakerLanny's point is, Sasha had been on the team longer than Shannon and had obviously reached his potential. I mean Sasha is who Sasha will always be. He's a forgettable bench player that can be pesky at times and can at times hit an uncontested 3 point shot (nowhere near the consistency of the "good" 3 point shooters in the league)
Moron is way too strong a word.
I think people were simply too quick to write off Shannon even though he
1) was a slow developer in college
2) spent most of his time sharing the court with Sasha and Jordan
When Shannon plays with better players, he raises his game.
When Sasha plays with better players...he plays like Sasha.

Let's continue to mention Barnes' activity and defensive tenacity. Seems like everygame one of the bench guys comes thru (and usually more than one plays good.) When Bynum is back, either he or Gasol will solidfy the bench rotation by playing with them. |
