Dammit! Only one of two games I've missed all season and it had to be this one! Sounds like it was a wild game! Oh well. At least Sucker Punch was great eye candy movie last night.

Thanks for the write up Db. Remember that play when Ron was being held by a defender and he flipped the ball in the basket for an and 1? that was like big brother toying with his little brother, that was really funny.

Wild game, indeed. 1st half was a feeling out process. The Mavs were trying out who to sacrifice to Kobe. First, Beaubie, later JKidd. Surprising that Marion didn't play Kobe much. Kobe really didn't shoot well, but was able to manufacture points anyway.

Great to see all the Lakers having "moments" in the game. Bynum was huge in the 2nd half. All the talk about Chandler making the Mavs a better defensive team, but he can't handle Drew at all. Pau had a good 1st half and then let Drew be the force. All I can say about LO is - where do I line up to buy the fragrance? A personal 11-0 run to break open the game. Don't recall seeing him actually take over a run like that.

Blake, although scoreless, was feisty. Barnes was feistier. Brown - I'm reserving judgment. It seems he goes into the game with only one thing on his mind - score with percentage-shattering shots. He's lost the fluidity of the game. But he does shoot FTs well.

He's had a lot of games this season where he does try to take over in that particular stretch of the ball game -- end of the third/first five minutes of the fourth -- but he certainly hasn't drained three consecutive threes like that. Not sure he's ever done that in a Laker uni. That was LO in his own version of the Mamba.

If your guard throws a fit, you must, uh, quit?

Re: LO

He has always been pretty good at being a vortex when need be. You saw all of those shots coming when Kobe was sitting and LO felt it was his time to take over. LO has seemed to figured that out. How to be a facilitator when the starters are with him and how to be more of a scorer when he's with the bench.

If LO feels he needs to be a volume shooter, he can be a Kevin Durant out there. I'm not saying he's as good as that guy in scoring, but he's shown me countless times that he has the ability to be that sort of scorer when he is in vortex mode. It's just not his natural game and he'll do it only when he really feels it or feels the situation demands it from him.

Took a long time to write up. Late game start with TNT. Killer B's ejections slowing things down further.

DB working overtime!

Nice write up, as per usual, sir.

I love it when Terry runs his mouth about the Lakers- always entertaining to see the Lakers pay it back on the court.
