EL SEGUNDO - Score one for the bucket boys of the world.
The NBA on Friday rescinded the technical foul Lakers forward Devean George received in the fourth quarter Tuesday at Dallas, the last in a series of calls that frustrated coach Phil Jackson and touched off his mini-feud with Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.
"It didn't give me great joy, but it's nice to know that there's some justice that was paid there a little bit," Jackson said. "We made the complaints during the game about the flagrant fouls and Devean's technical and those things the league reviews and they made a correct call."

Good news, but it's Kobe that needs his technicals taken back. He already has 11, and if he gets 5 more, he will be suspended. _________________ Good Laker book I recommend, "The Biggest What-If's in Lakers History" http://www.amazon.com/Biggest-What-Ifs-Angeles-History-ebook/dp/B00BB3OEC0 |

I may be missing something, but Jackson didn't get fined, and the league rescinded Deavan's technical foul? Now if the NFL could ever learn from the NBA. |

If Kobe cannot go half a season without getting 5 more technical fouls, then Kobe deserves to be suspended.
Kobe was doing a great job of not complaining and he was getting a lot of respect for doing so. However, it's clear this team is beginning to frustrate Kobe. Nevertheless, Kobe needs to call out Lamar and Jackson to get off their a$$ and get after the refs so he doesn't have to every game.
Lamar needs to become a leader for this team or the Lakers need to unload him to a team that needs a high priced roll player. Jackson needs to follow through with his earlier statements, get off his thrown of a chair and work the sidelines until this young team figures it out for themselves. This isn’t a typical Phil Jackson veteran team, yet Phil still treats them as such. |

^The non calls when he gets held, hit in the head, tomahawk chopped and pushed are what makes him yell at the refs and get the technical fouls.

UH, Lamar already lets the refs psyche him out almost every game, because he can't ever get a call when he's driving to the hoop. The last thing he needs is to be taking the refs on for kobe. Kobe needs to learn how to object without getting a technical, like most of the league does...
I loved this part of the article:
Quote: | Feedback: The footage of Bryant shooting jumpers and lifting weights in his new Nike commercial was taken during what Bryant calls his "blackout" period last summer, when he immersed himself in workouts and put the Lakers' 34-48 season behind him.
After the commercial debuted Thursday, Bryant said he got calls from several NBA players, one of whom said he was heading to the gym to work out even though it was a day off after watching the ad.
"We got a little camera and filmed one of my workout sessions," Bryant said. "That's as real as it gets. There's no script, there's no cut. That was one of my workouts in the blackout this summer. We took that footage and edited it and wrote a pretty raw spot."
| Kobe leading by example...so cool. |

Either way, KB8 needs to just play ball and let the refs ref... this team can not afford to not have him down the stretch, even for one game... |

Kobe could stand to react to unbalanced calls. But just like the calls themselves are unbalanced, he gets called for techs less than rookies but more than other stars. Look at the entire Miami team complain all day and not get called for techs - especially evident in our last game agst them -- Cookie's two technicals held up against Haslem, Wade, GP, Antoine and Snaq on every other possession.
People say that technicals are assessed especially when the refs feel shown up by the player. This is probably more likely when the reaction comes from big name players, but often in games, you hear analysts comment that the ref told the player to back off and turned away from the player to help avoid having to call the technical. They just don't do that for Kobe, Sheed, Artest, KMart and Fortson. Does Kobe really deserve to be lumped into that group?? On the other hand, Wade and KG, are at 7 and 6 and the refs actually try not to call them for techs (with KG's supporting cast - I don't blame him), AI (9) to a lesser extent too. _________________ "Everyone wants to be Mamba-licious." - me

Bynum showed some toughness.
I love that he goes to block shots in the paint. That's why he's a TRUE Center as opposed to Mihm or Kwame - who are more like PF's.
