Kobe has no leverage until '08 when he can try to force a trade due to his contract. |

He doesn't need to pressure the Lakers. We have season ticket holders to do that. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that." ~~Martin Luther King Jr.~~ |

You know, the most annoying and embarassing fact is that
after a 34-48 season all we do is to add McKie and Kwame for Chucky and Butler. Its just pathetic how our franchise has prepared themselves for a second lottery season. seriously signing Smush was LUCK and our rookies (all 3) were all a couple of years away. How can Dumbchak just look in the mirror? ALL YOU DO after a TERRIBLE season is adding Kwame and McKie and Profit? Sorry but our franchise right now is Clippers 2.0. Its simply pathetic how Mitch comes into the radio and tells we don´t need to make a move, we feel confident. |

You just made me even more depressed. You put everything in perspective. The Lakers should have made more moves after that awful season. |

Based on past history (with all the rumors, he said/she said, comments about KB8 being the GM)) KB8 probably wants to stay away from this. I'm sure if he's aksed he will give his opinions... but I don't think he will force anybody's hand.... |

Buss big move was signing Phil to a 10 million dollar a year deal for 3 years. Phil has actually performed worse than Rudy T. I said it before Phil ,and I'll say it now. This game is won by players on the court. For Buss to invest in an aging coach with enough baggage to fill a airport hanger, instead of actual NBA talent, was a disasterous move. What's worse is now the Zen master is retarding the growth of Bynum by not playing him. Buss sold his soul to Phil. Now live with it. |

Kobe doesn't have to say or do anything. He just has to continue to carry these stiffs. His back will break eventually. The man is tired.
A few nights ago on the Lakers Live Pregame, Jack Haley asked him how he was feeling. Kobe kinda danced around the question, but he did reveal that he had been getting post-game treatments, at his house. So after games, he's meeting his physical therapist at his house at midnight for 2 hour treatments. That told me a lot. |

none. Kobe was intentional about not getting involved this offseason regarding PJ and team in general. _________________ Lakers Tickets |

And do you want to know what is more pathetic.
Kupcake had a special meeting with season tickets holders and said that there would be improvements and this organization is about winning.
Kupcake should clarify. This organization is about winning as long as it doesn't effect our bottom line. |

Shucks yeah...
...Kobe should go into their office and say, "look guys, I don't care if a
deal isn't available that makes us better, force a trade cuz I say so!"

It's funny, I don't hear nobody in the media running their mouth about how Kobe is the gm of the team and calling the shots. |

This is one of the reason Suckie Atkins was let go. When he mouth uttered regarding Kobe as GM of Laker. |

Do you guys seriously think the timing of Shaq being moved (a reason many of you feel Mitch didn't get enough) wasn't driven by the need to sign Kobe to his extension. Kobe wasn't going to resign unless and until Shaq was off the team.
Accordingly, I don't think he has too much room to complain about his supporting cast. The organization made a terrible trade in their haste and they are left with all this waste (sans Kobe). They don't have the talent or cap room to get better. The only option they had to appease the fans was to spend money on a coach. They're stuck now. |

I don't think Kobe needs to put pressure on Buss to improve, the lack of playoff money for two seasons in a row will take care of that. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Kupchak isn't a Lakers material. He's content with mediocrity.

Kobe can rant and rave, but right now, he has no power to do anything. He needs to show the world that he can do it without crying. The only way something is done is for all of us to start ranting and raving. We need season ticket holders to do what they did last year when the demanded Phil back. Laker fans need to boo at Laker games when they play horribly. We, the fans, need to let Dr. Buss know that this just won't do!!! Kobe is in his prime and we need to surround him with players to bring the glory back to LA! |

Kobe wants to win. Everyone knows that including the Lakers organization. That's pressure enough. It is pretty obvious that the Lakers aren't at that level yet and they need to make trades. |

And it's pretty obvious that they won't do nothing simply because...they never do anything...and when they do, they don't do it well.
Case in point..
Shaq trade..winner Miami
Kwame trade..winner Washington
JJ trade...winner Cha
Rush trade...winner Cha

Worse than Rudy? We are .500 through the toughest part of our schedule. Rudy had us just above .500 throught he easiest part of our schedule last year. Right now Phil is building this team for the future, stressing defensive schemes that may loose games now, but will pay off in the future. We are still .500 with a young inexpierenced team running the triangle. We're now going into the easiest part of our schedule and we'll finish alot better than Rudy's team. Plus phil made it through more games than Rudy so he's already done better there. He's not retarding the growth of Bynum, either. He's 18, he's getting some playing time, working with cap, and their brining him along slowly, which is the right thing. Kobe was brought along slowly and he was a phenomnon. Winning teams bring rookies along slowly, instead of trial by fire, can't argue with the results the same teams usually win and the bad teams are usually bad. |

Leaders take charge.
If Kobe is a leader, then he'll take charge. Plain and simple. A person has it or they don't. |
