Using Real GM, I came up with this trade...let me know what you think.
L.A. Lakers Trade Breakdown
Outgoing
Devean George
6-8 SF from Augsburg-MN
7.0 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 23.1 minutes
Lamar Odom
6-10 SF from Rhode Island
13.9 ppg, 9.2 rpg, 5.3 apg in 39.2 minutes
Incoming
Kirk Hinrich
6-3 PG from Kansas
14.6 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 6.3 apg in 36.1 minutes
Tim Thomas
6-10 SF from Villanova
4.3 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 0.7 apg in 10.3 minutes
Change in team outlook: -2.0 ppg, -8.5 rpg, and +0.6 apg.
Chicago Trade Breakdown
Outgoing
Kirk Hinrich
6-3 PG from Kansas
14.6 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 6.3 apg in 36.1 minutes
Tim Thomas
6-10 SF from Villanova
4.3 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 0.7 apg in 10.3 minutes
Incoming
Earl Watson
6-1 PG from UCLA
7.7 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 3.5 apg in 21.6 minutes
Kenyon Martin
6-9 PF from Cincinnati
13.8 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 1.4 apg in 29.0 minutes
Change in team outlook: +2.6 ppg, +3.9 rpg, and -2.1 apg.
Denver Trade Breakdown
Outgoing
Earl Watson
6-1 PG from UCLA
7.7 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 3.5 apg in 21.6 minutes
Kenyon Martin
6-9 PF from Cincinnati
13.8 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 1.4 apg in 29.0 minutes
Incoming
Devean George
6-8 SF from Augsburg-MN
7.0 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 23.1 minutes
Lamar Odom
6-10 SF from Rhode Island
13.9 ppg, 9.2 rpg, 5.3 apg in 39.2 minutes
Change in team outlook: -0.6 ppg, +4.6 rpg, and +1.5 apg.
Successful Scenario
Due to L.A. Lakers, Chicago, and Denver being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. L.A. Lakers, Chicago, and Denver had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Lakers get rid of George's expiring and acquire Tim Thomas's huge expiring, while getting Kurt Hinrich as their starting PG.
Denver gets rid of Kenyon Martin's pathetic contract and Earl Watson, who they have been shopping, and get Odom to play their PF, where he could be the 3rd/ 2.5 option and fit right in.
Bulls lose Hinrich, but get a servicable guard in Watson and pick up Kenyon Martin to play along side Tyson Chandler. That way they can have two guys dunking and yelling up and down the court. |
