East Palo Alto
Didn't live there but worked near there. Just across the 101, short distance from "Professor's Row" at Stanford U.
EPA was once dubbed murder capital of the country. Back in the late 80's early 90's when I was in the Bay Area it was awful. Has improved a lot now, tho'. _________________ “There is always light if only we're brave enough to see it, if only we're brave enough to be it.” --Amanda Gorman |

East Palmdale
Pacoima
Lived in Panorama City for about 17 years. Wasn't horrible but definitely not a "good" area.
I live in the Antelope Valley now. It's much worse than the east valley but not because of the crime. But because of all of the right winged, beer drinking, deer humping rednecks and their F150s. Sorry, Bill Joe Bob Carl Danny Frank, I thought this was still considered L.A. County. Everywhere I turn there's no shortage of cactus filled, tumbleweed rolling desert. The town sherriff is also the town drunk who happens to be the barber who's married to the city mayor who's daughter is friends with the (bleep) my wife used to work with.
I have to be careful not to flip anybody off on the road because it could be my in laws. Yes, the town is that small and pathetic. My wife and I saw the same person in 3 different stores at different times of the day. A typical weekend for "those" people is either working on putting their longhorns on the front of their truck, taking a family trip to Wal Mart, or buying a new flannel and some work boots.
You should see the stares I get when I go to Lowe's. I pull up in my dinky 01 Corolla without a flannel, a handlebar mustache, tap out cap, and work boots. If you value your youth, sanity and creative goals, you will stay the (bleep) away from the Antelope Valley. _________________ Thank you, Kobe. We love you. |

I'm a socal native.. but right now I'm up north for work. I always hear bad stories about Oakland.. but I didnt think much of it. Went to a korean bar in oakland, it was on telegraph ave. Anyways I get pretty drunk so I step outside to get fresh air/sober up and while I'm waiting outside a older model suv rolls up, looks like maybe a trailblazer, and that guy sticks his gun out points it at me, pulls the trigger, the gun clicks like it was empty, and he laughs and speeds off.. to be honest I didnt even have time to react it was just one of those WTF just happened moments.. so yeah I'm going to have to say Oakland. This happened maybe a week and half ago.
Few weeks before that another guy tried to start a fight with me while I was about to get in my car, my license plate has La Lakers, and on the back car window I have car decal of LA for the dodgers, anyways guy tries to pick a fight with me cause im from LA.. his friends intervened.. he mustve been drunk. and yes this is in Oakland..
so my pick is for OAKLAND, EFF YOU OAKLAND.
im living in the castro valley/hayward area though.. this place is ghetto as heck.. liquor store/gun store on every corner.. damn i miss LOS ANGELES. |

I went to high school in an affluent area of Orange County even though we weren't rich, just lived close by. I remember our varsity basketball team was advancing to the CIF championship, but before that we needed to travel to Compton to play Dominguez Hills. All the kids at my school were freaking the F out I think all anybody knew about Compton from my school was what they heard about in NWA's music. |

I visited a friend's family in downtown San Francisco...(I usually go to the nice areas of San Francisco when I visit, so this was a complete shock to the system). We almost got carjacked and we got shot at (well more like in the line of fire) all in like an half-hour of being there. _________________ ♪ ♫One good thing about music, when it hits, you feel no pain...

Tower Hamlets or Bethnal Green in London are the worst places i've been to, my bro got stabbed and robbed in Peckham when he was trying to hook up some weed , so imaybe not the best neighborhood to walk around.
Luckily for me, I live in quite a nice area of London so don't really have any trouble at all. _________________ Lakers, Chargers, Dodgers, Arsenal FC.

Maybe north Long Beach, near Compton. I also lived in downtown San Diego before they cleaned it up. My block was so bad we only had one massage parlor.
Neither was all that bad. In fact they looked like resorts compared to places on the east coast. |

There's one here nearby where I'm from. Between Homestead and Florida City. It's really a bad neighborhood around that that road and Lucy St. _________________ (❍ᴥ❍ʋ) ʕʘᴥʘʔ (⌐ ͡■ ͜ʖ ͡■) (┛◉Д◉)┛( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽ |

I assumed the OP meant in the US, but I've been to neighborhoods in the Philippines that make Tijuana look like Beverly Hills. There is some severe poverty over there. |

Probably the Vermont Knolls in the height of the Eight Trey and Rollin' 60s battle. Nice neighborhoods but when the night came, expect the ghetto bird to be above ya house ....... |
