Honestly, Kobe needs to consider retiring because a few more postseasons like this will be just too sad to watch. Be one thing if he would adapt and defer but the guy's just bullheaded. |

Dud isn't a BUM, but he cost us this game, and probably the series. |
lol I know he isn't a bum I was just venting.. we're all a little pissed right now. |
Blake cost us the game.. wide open 3 and he blew it. |
Kobe blew it. 7 pt lead, he turns the ball over twice. Lead gone. We all know blake can't make that shot in the clutch. |

That's about $130 million in salary over the next 2 seasons in that huddle. Almost half of it Kobe.
And people piss and moan about our shallow bench? In this CBA? . |

Kobe snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
Multiple choice question. Why did Kobe (bleep) up?
a) Stupidity
b) Carelessness
c) Choke job
d) None of the above
e) All the above
I'll go with answer e. The lazy pass that Durant picked off was carelessness. The pass that went through his hands was him choking. He forgot that OKC had a foul to give and thus attacked the basket way too late... well that's stupidity.
Oh and let's not forget Mr. Twenty-something percent shooting threes... _________________ We are stardust

@ all of the Kobe haters logging on to chime in with the Kobe insults.
When you lose by 2 points, how is it all on Kobe? Sessions was a complete no show, Blake's missed 3's, Matt Barnes (enough said), Bynum didn't exactly shoot well, numerous bricks and stupid shots by MWP, but it's all Kobe's fault. IDIOCY. _________________ Rest In Paradise Kobe & GiGi |

kobe should be none too pleased with himself. Even if metta passes it to him it would have probably got intercepted, kobe was on the other side of the court heavily guarded.

Having answer D to be part of all above, won't that nullify the other answers.

Wow! Such a shame. Great opportunity gone to waste.
OKC did what it was supposed to do. They won their two at home. LA has to do their part and win the two at home and steal one. Our bench is much better at home but it's a shame that this game was in the bag and they let it slip.
If LA would've pulled it out and held serve then they'd be back 3-1 with the pressure on OKC. Now they'd be back 2-2 and less pressure. It's not te end of the world. LA is older and if I remember right Bos won in 08 without winning a single road game in the first 2 rounds. The difference is LA has to win at least 1.
It's not over til it's over. |

Whenever something like this happens, Kobe disappears, refusing to talk to anyone. Think he'll be fined 15K? |

We saw this story earlier in the season with the Bulls- Lakers play a great 2nd half only to choke it all away in the final 2 minutes- so perhaps I feel a bit less shocked to see it happen again. But can't deny it stings more in the playoffs, and I'm still having a hard time processing that it was Kobe in the center of that sudden meltdown.
Also not sure how I feel about that final shot. Blake was open, Kobe was struggling, and OKC seemed to clog the paint so the bigs couldn't get it. Felt like it was setting up a classic playoff moment where a role player steps up to drill the big 3 (think Kerr for the Bulls, Horry for LA, etc.), or at least that's what I was hoping for. As much as Blake's shooting has stepped up in this playoffs, it just wasn't meant to be. |

Hey Kobe Haters -
You're forgetting that it was the TEAM that allowed those 8 points to be scored. No matter WHO turns it over, you STILL have to play defense, rotate, and help.
They conceded those baskets. Team played 46 minutes of defense, then stopped.
Besides the interior defense evaporating, why was Blake even on the floor at all? Fisher was traded to make SURE Mike Brown couldn't play him over Sessions, so what does M.B. do? Play Blake over Sessions.
And don't give any crap excuses about Sessions not being able to play; he could play GREAT before he learned Mike Brown's "system".
Brown also decided to take extra timeouts, and then apparently didn't inform the team when OKC had a foul to give, leaving not enough time on the clock.
And then players not fouling right away, that's the coach's job to make sure they know what to do if the shot doesn't go in. Players get tired.
Kobe didn't give up 8 points in a row in 2 minutes, the TEAM defense did. This loss is on everyone. |
