A joke to think Ebanks is better than CDR haha. CDR actually has to be accounted for by the defense, unlike Ebanks who is a 0 on offense.
I hope CDR+ sticks with the team. He most def is there with meeks as far as talent. I would say he's a more creative scorer. I say if Steve Bagel shows up this season while Blake goes missing. Play Meeks @ PG PLay CDR+ @ sg Ebanks @ SF Jamison & Hill up front. thats a team that can keep a lead.
Yeah, but one problem though Meeks can't play or handle the PG position.
How many time does it have to be said? We're running the princeton which doesn't require a real pg. _________________ Coach Vogel, Kidd, Hollins

lol.. i dont think any laker fans are "pumped" over him.. he'd just probably be a better 13-15 player on the bench then all the late 2nd round and undrafted players we have in the summer camp.. he does have the potential to become the backup sf if he kept his head on straight and reached his complete potential which makes him someone to watch out for but who knows what will happen...
we are pumped over the 2 future hof'ers we added to 2 we already had along with our worst starting player being in the best shape of his life though :3

I think the team can gamble on guys like CDR with Nash and Jamison as veteran leaders. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
Glock dissapointed in SL...bad shot selection and poor defender. At least with CDR he can play both the SG or SF positions so he can backup MWP or if Meeks is hurt he can backup Kobe. Becuse its always good to have a guy that can get his own shot off the bench ..yes Jamison can do that but most of his shots come from being setup by the PG just like Meeks.
If the Lakers decide to go with only 14 roster spots to start the season which one these players gets the final roster spot?
A. Andrew Goudelock
B. Darius Johnson-Odom
C. Reeves Nelson
D. Robert Sacre
E. Chris Douglas-Roberts
F. Greg Somogyi
G. Ronnie Aguilar _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.

They have to go 15
They might but they have a history of carrying 13 or 14 players on the roster. And the payroll is already extremely high. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.
Since Pau and JHill can both play center taking Sacre is pretty reduntant imo. But since SF is our weakest position depth wise i think CDR would have a real shot at making the squad. Remember they usually take 15 and then make their final cuts to around 13 later

Yeah, I'm a pretty big Ebanks fan (I want to see some promising youngsters), but this guy is definately better than him. Plus, he's a better fit with our second 5 (likes to drive and create his own shot). I know Morris has a guaranteed contract, but can't we put him on the scrubs list also, or do you guys think he'll make the full squad since he's getting paid either way? Also, don't you guys think it's kinda strange that we're bringing so many C's to camp? I'd assume they're looking for 1 more to add to the final roster. Here's what I'd like to see with how things stand now (assuming we don't bring anyone else in):
lol whoever thinks CDR will make the team. seriously you guys are probably the same ones who said glock is good and that mike brown was "hiding" morris. Ive learned this site is full of failed scouts _________________ Kobe "I mean Phil's been here, and -- to be honest with you -- we might have, in all the years I've been with Phil, (had) maybe three defensive drills the entire time"
this line-up can not only keep leads but extend them. lets face it, having 2 (3 if you count clark) small forwards who are all offensive liabilities is a weakness. as much as i like glock n sacre they have to go because they are redundant.
we are shored up at center with howard, gasol, hill and even clark has the hieght, rebounding and shot blacking abilities to give you spot minutes. sacre is useless
at sg we have kobe, meeks and blake can give you minutes there as well. not to mention glock brings the same skill set as meeks. i would rather bring in djo has shown he can also hit an outside shot but also brings energy, athleticism and defense to the equation.
at the end of the day cdr and djo bring skills we are lacking to the table so they should get the remaining roster spots. i think djo spends most of his time on the bench and cdr takes the backup minutes at 3.
morris, djo, ebanks, clark, hill are players who will get spot minutes based on thier defense and matchups.....i love this roster
nash,blake,duhan,morris
kobe,meeks,djo
artest,cdr,ebanks,
gasol, jamison,clark
howard,hill
this is also a team with players who can play multiple position on offense or defense.
nash can play off ball
kobe can play 1-3
artest can play 2-4
gasol can play 4-5
dwight is fast enough to guard 4's
blake can play 1-2
jamison can play 3-4
hill can play 4-5
ebanks can play 2-4
clark has been rumored to play 3-5
morris has the size to guard 2's
djo can guard 1-2
cdr can play 2-3
meeks played 1 for spots last year....this team is stacked and versital....sorry i went off a little but im way too excited for this season. im really excited if the lakers sign cdr and djo because i was rooting for them to get t-will!! this might be even better!!

Pretty much my thoughts too. I like the versatility of our players, along with about 1000 other things about this team. I like the thought of having DJO around to play D against fast PG's when they're destroying Nash, Blake, and Duhon. Put him in when Rondo, Westbrook, CP3, Lawson, etc are blowing by our PG's like we've watched for years. Have that be his #1 job, wear down and annoy speedy PG's. I saw this article a while back on him.

There's also a cool link for a Sports Science piece on him in the comments that I'd never seen.

Also, ESPNLA has an article on the CDR signing. Brian K is a little more up on the possibility of this guy making the 15 man squad than Helin was.

You could have Nash, DJO, CDR, Gasol, and Howard or Hill as a running team when you need it. One thing's for sure - all the possibilities of this 2012-2013 team are so exciting, I can barely concentrate on anything else!
