That's one heck of a golden parachute they are prepared to give him. Almost makes me feel better about the Rudy T fiasco... |

I like Isiah as a coach and a talent evaluator... not so much as a number cruncher, though. Jermaine O'Neal was pretty pissed to see Larry Legend let Isiah go as coach of the Pacers. I would also admit that although due to circumstances, etc... the Pacers are not better off with Carlisle than they were with Isiah. |

I do feel so very bad for the Knicks fans... what a debacle the 2000's have been for that franchise. |

I think being "poor" is what the Knicks are not. _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. I don't know how much money the Knick's ownership has, but they're definately dipping into their reserves over the next couple of years.. |

I was kidding : Brown has an ego bigger than Kobe and Phil combined.
I wasn't kidding if we could have Larry's knowledge of the game without his baggage : the guy could teach a lot if the players are willing to listen to him. |

Are they serious? a buyout? Didnt Larry Brown get like a 10 million a year deal? it must be fun throwing away all those millions of dollars away when ever you want. _________________ Pain is temporary, at the end of pain is success... |

You said a mouthfull there... Meanwhile back on the farm in Indiana...
Quote: | Because the team's victory total has declined in each of Rick Carlisle's three seasons – from 61 to 44 to 41 – there has been some speculation about his future on the bench. Bird said he hadn't yet met with Carlisle but that "we expect him to be back."
"I think with everything that happened last year you could look and probably say he did lose the team at times but these guys are professional, they're good guys, they know what they have to do to win ballgames," Bird said. "Rick's a great basketball coach. There's no question. And the players like him. It's just that some things didn't go the way they thought this year and there was a lot of frustration."
Bird said returning the Pacers to elite contender status would require a total team effort, including the players, coaching staff and management.
"It's not just Rick, it's myself and Donnie included," he said. "We can't have that here. That's not the way you win. You've got to be professional and we've talked to every one of the guys about it. It's got to change - and it will."
|
Bird is talking as if he is about to fire the owner, Rick and himself!
I really do enjoy Bird sometimes. If only he weren't a Celtic... _________________ "According to ESPN.com's conference projections, the Lakers will finish 12th in the West, which prompted Bryant to tweet earlier this offseason, "12th I see.." |

Given his health ups and downs, Larry shoulda just went out on top.
He always said one day he would be done with pro coaching, and he would go coach poor kids in the inner city at a high school or something to close out his career. What a story it would have been had he done that after finally winning an NBA Championship. Going out like this is just sad.
It does put things in perspective. Can you imagine being on a Knicks board? It would make this place look like a love-in |

Good luck for any coach trying to control Marbury after they fire Isiah.
It would be just deserts if Isiah would be forced to coach the malcontents he brought togethere.
Has Isiah ever finished ANYTHING he has started anywhere once in management? Why do people keep hiring him when he leaves a trail of destroyed teams and entire leagues in his wake? |

BTW, good luck ever getting a chance to hire a good coach at market price given what they have done to 2 hall of fame coaches.
They will never get their players to play "right" now given that the Wilkens and Brown were given a quick hook. |

oh my. Lets all, as Laker fans, remember back to last summer and thank the lord we got Phil instead of Larry Drama. A horrible team, with no chemistry, no lottery pick, very little flexibility, and no potentially Isiah Thomas coaching? Knick fans could be looking at a 10 win season. And then they have to swap that lottery pick with Chicago AGAIN! I hope they think Eddy Curry was worth (potentially) LaMarcus Aldridge and Greg Oden. |
