Weaver is out of Long Beach State where the SPL is held each year. His ERA is about 2.1. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that." ~~Martin Luther King Jr.~~ |

Yeah. This guy is amazing. I already planned out the pitching rotation schedule and I'm going to the Red Sox/Angels game on Aug 24... just to see this guy pitch.
This was already planned out before Colon got hurt, and it looks like its still scheduled correctly. Hopefully no one else gets injured. _________________

The Angels have an AL Rookie of the Year candidate. The Dodgers have a NL Rookie of the Year candidate in Ethier. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that." ~~Martin Luther King Jr.~~

He can pitch. Without Weaver, the Angels would be in deep doo doo. |

Great for both "Los Angeles" teams with the quality youth.
Halos got the stud pitching prospects (Weaver, Saunders, KRod (only 24))
Dodgers got the sticks (Ethier, Martin, Loney, Kemp (should be superstar by 09))
Whatever helps my dream for a Freeway World Series the better!!

I did some early research, and I was lucky enough, to grab up Jered, from waivers, in a couple of my fantasy leagues...
Jered struggled today, and I was really worried. He barely made it, out of a couple of innings. Like most of my pitchers, I thought he was going cold.
The danger is that the Angels will overwork Jered. I was glad when they took him out... I was kind of laughing, because I saw that he was acting like he was sad, about getting the hook... I could imagine him thinking: "Whew... Man, my arm is hurting!!... I'm sure glad they took me out!"
The relief pitchers almost lost it for Jered... That's the other danger. He reminds me of Bronson Arroyo, with a different style of delivery. Let's see how long his arm will last. _________________ "Teamwork is a nebulous thing. It is as ephemeral as love, disappearing at the latest insult.".... Phil Jackson |

I thought he had that 8th one in the bank a couple times already but he couldn't pull it off. |

Angels had them both this season, then sent his bro packing to make room for him. |

It's good to see the talent develop young. At least they will be around for a few years at a reasonable cost. It's good to have a blend of talented youth and veteran players. Everyone can look up to Greg Maddux. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that." ~~Martin Luther King Jr.~~ |
