I think that you would have to give up Santana, Figgins and a prospect. Would you? |

Can't the Angels just sign Aramis Ramirez to a fat multi-year and be done with it??? This team needs legit sluggers at the corner and someone to take the pressure of Vlad. Trading away all your young chips for a diva like ARod would be a disaster. _________________ "Now we're so happy we do the dance of joy." |

Im not a Figgins fan so i say trade him!!!! Ervin Santana would be a hard pill to swallow.
But i would LOVE to have A-Rod in the lineup. _________________ Go Lakers

No way. Aside from his horrible lack of clutchness, you can get a lot more value for your 25 mil. You can get a real good starting pitcher (10-12 mil), a stud position player (8-10 mil), and another decent player or 2 for that money. Teams like the A's and even the Marlins this year are proving that a good farm system yields more value than a big contract. It's no coincidence that the Yankees haven't won anything since Steinbrenner has gone on the big shopping spree. Those title teams were mostly homegrown. _________________ “We must always take sides. I was thinking about a topic like this.... I decided that A-Rod is too much of a risk, to give up too much... Many teams [especially, L.A. Teams] have made the mistake, of giving up too much, for a player that is spiraling down, and keeps spiraling. Lo Duca, and Shawn Green sure made a point. Something's going on.... It could be a mental, or psychological thing... More than likely, it looks more like a physical thing... A-Rod's body has really filled out, and he probably hasn't been able to adjust, to a heavier, beefier body style.
On the other hand, the pressure to perform, in N.Y., may just be too much. a change of scenery might be just what the doctor ordered. _________________ "Teamwork is a nebulous thing. It is as ephemeral as love, disappearing at the latest insult.".... Phil Jackson |

Hell No!! The Angels made the biggest mistake of letting Glaus walked.
He was clutch. |

They should save the position for Brandon Wood. Play Figgins at third next year and have Wood for '08. They Angels have a glut of middle infielders so they can do this. The Angels really need a center fielder. _________________ Started posting on Lakersground when it was lakers/rivals.com since Aug.2000. |

The Halos should let Kennedy, Erstad and (of course) Salmon walk.
Try to find a taker for Colon (Yankees?).
Then go after (FAs):
--Barry Zito
--Carlos Lee
--Juan Pierre
Live with Figgy at 3B while he keeps the spot warm for Brandon Wood.
Put Rivera back as the 4th OF where he belongs.
Let GA take the DH spot.
Do something with: Kotchman, McPherson and Mathis. Stoneman is paying for not moving one (or all) of those kids. Could've really got something good for them. |

I wouldn't be surprised if ARod hit 70 HRs if he were playing home games at Angel Stadium. |

A-Rod would hit a ton of homers in Angels stadium. He always plays well there. This is what i would do (assuming Figgins isnt in the deal):
Let Kennedy and Erstad go
Trade for ARod, put him at 3rd
move Figgins to CF (he has a weak arm, but with his speed he can cover A LOT of ground out there)
and Sign Alfonso Soriano to be your second baseman. (he wants to play second not outfield so it could happen)
Put Kendrick at 1B _________________ Go Lakers

No! For what he gets, they could get about three quality players. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that." ~~Martin Luther King Jr.~~ |

The Dodgers could use a consistent fourty homerun a season hitter. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that." ~~Martin Luther King Jr.~~ |

Texas is still picking up most of the tab, though. |

The Dodgers definitely could have used another slugger in the lineup. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that." ~~Martin Luther King Jr.~~ |

The yankees are only paying him 16 mil. Texas is picking up 9 mil of his contract every year until it ends |

That might not be too bad. I don't think the Dodgers are far away from being a true contender. Another bat and a left handed pitcher would be nice. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate. The Dodgers will go after Barry Zito and ALfonso Soriano.
I really like Andruw Jones. I think that if the Angels are going to trade prospects for someone, it should be Jones.
I would trade Santana and Garrett Anderson for Andruw Jones.
Then with the money that I would be paying Anderson, I would pay Zito, 11 to 13mill. a year. |

sure a-rod to the dodgers sounds good but will he continue to be a no show come playoff time?thats too big of a question mark for me.for what we would be shelling out for him,you could probably get more quality guys for a couple spots than gutting your roster for a sac town kings type player(meaning good regular season, hasnt done ish in playoff |
