Quote: | JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jaguars defensive end was arrested Sunday night, accused of racing, reckless driving, prohibited use of flashing lights and drug possession.
According to the arrest report, an officer saw Bobby McCray, 25, in a Dodge SUV with flashing blue and white lights speeding south at 92 mph with two other vehicles on state Road 9A.
The officer pulled over and saw McCray's car and two others speed by.
"It's illegal to use these lights, if you're not police or law enforcement," said Jacksonville Sheriff's Office spokesman Ken Jefferson.
The police report states that one of cars began a lane change and McCray's car also began a lane change, causing the vehicles to almost hit each other.
After he was stopped on Town Center Parkway, police said McCray told the officer he had come across one of his teammates while driving and "was just playing around." |
Quote: | The officer also said he found two prescription pills that police later identified as hydrocodone -- a schedule III narcotic -- and Tylenol. McCray told the officer the Jaguars team physician or trainer gave him the pills after Sunday's game in Houston, but he could not produce a prescription for the medication.
"Regardless of where the pills came from, they were illegal -- he was not allowed to have them," Jefferson said. |
Nothing like PASSING a cop when driving 92 mph while racing a teammate in a 45 zone...

hmm....
47 MPH over the limit @ $25.00 per mile comes to 375.00
plus reckless endangerment 3,000 dollar fine
possession 10,000 dollars
impound vehicle 600 dollars
traffic school 55.00 dollars
drug counseling 20 dollars per session for a total of 6 monthes once a week 480.00
WHich comes to a grand total of 14,510 dollars give or take
This is not including a rise in Insurance premiums, posting bail, and fines from the NFL and games missed with no pay for breaking the behavior contract code.
Must be nice to play in the NFL.... all that for "just playing around" |
