Walking away from 33 mill over the next 3 years, just go done with a .283/20/100 season, is that really worth giving up that much money? The only reason this makes sense if he were an older player needing a longer term deal, is he really worth another 55 mill over another 5? I know the market is light, but come on!

P.S. I know it is Boras, bad joke

JD Drew is great offensively when he's healthy. But he's had, what, one season where he didn't go on the DL. Probably a mistake, although I also would be hesitant to bet against Boras. $33M is a lot of money for Drew IMO.

Dodger got a good break here, Drew is not worth 11 a year.

Now they have extra cash to get Soriano, Zito, Schmidt, or A. Ramirez.

With the kind of money the doyers were paying him, I expected 30-40 hrs. with about 130 rbi, 300+ avg and a cure for AIDS. Im glad Nancy Drew is gone. Gives us an opportunity to find a nice free agent power hitter like vlad or alfonso soriano.

Definitely glad to see him opt out, I've never liked him to begin with and it definitely frees up payroll.

The sad thing is... Drew has the talent to be All-World. The dude could have gone down as one of the greatest to play the game.

Too bad he's such a bonehead.

In any case, the Dodgers have money freed to go after another player.
