I get it. Magic didn’t want Walton to have a “safe place” of traditionalism in which to “hide” or “go to” in order to seek comfort.
He consciously wanted to force Walton’s hand, not to sabotage him, but to push the limits of Walton’s vision.
Magic wouldn’t tell Walton who to play, but he would construct an roster in a way that damn near forces Walton to play who Magic wants him to play. |
So Magic, one of the worst NBA coaches ever, is trying to influence who Luke plays? What could go wrong. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

He could be a trade option come midseason. |
He’s a shooter who isn’t making shots, so undoubtedly he looks bad, but it won’t last.
As far as minutes go. He knows that Magic and Walton have him penciled in as the fourth big, and he’ll play that role unless he either beats out Kuzma for minutes (possible) or Wagner/Zubac beat him out for minutes (possible as well).
Give Beasley time though. Once he starts hitting shots (obviously) people around here will be singing a far different tune. |
Totally agree. Good post bro. |

Agree with you guys. It isn't like he suddenly doesn't know how to play, he is a proven player in the league.
That said, as we all know....the spotlight in LA can be feast or it can be famine. It isn't for everyone. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Beasley is gonna provide a lot for this team, especially in big games. |

This dude is a bad fit for our team. Just bad court IQ. We should have went after a guy like Ed Davis instead because back up 5 is highly lacking. |

Beaz has been a mess so far. He is a vet so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now. |

Surprisingly hes been all defense no offense this preseason. People talking crap about his play thus far but like poster above me said, hes stepping up on defense. His activity and IQ on that end has been on point for the most part imo. |

No doubt...the offense will come...not worried about that at all. His defense and last line of defense has been impressive to me. |

Beasley has been in this league for a long time and has played basketball for years, he knows he has the talent to step up when it matters, the preseason doesn’t mean much to street baller type players. |

Hate to say it but this guy’s game doesn’t seem to fit the team at all. His game reminds me of Melo a lot, a guy who likes to ISO and can’t do much when he isn’t in an ISO. |

He always looks and plays like he’s high on that stuff anyway. Low IQ, can’t score anymore, constantly lost on the court. Why is he here? |
To collect paycheck?
He had looked like trash all preseason |

I feel he was being very passive this preseason. I want him to be on attack mode more. If he catchs the ball low he needs to make his move. No pf or center can guard him imo. |

Don't like what I'm seeing so far I was expecting a lot more energy from him The lackluster effort is more concerning than the turnovers and bad shooting |

Who ever thought Beasley was a small ball center? He can't play defense really at any position very well and that was common knowledge before we signed him.
He just doesn't seem comfortable at all so far and it is hard to see where he fits in this type of game Luke is playing.
We let our small ball center walk for nothing so that we could sign Rondo. Of course LeBron might be a better point guard than center so you can question that move.
Beasley has meet the low expectations that I had for him when we signed him. |

Beas looks like he can be a solid backup 4 but at backup 5 it won't work. He plays decent 1 on 1 D, above avg help D and has some nice movement without the ball offensively. We just need him to get his outside shot to fall a bit more consistently and he'll be a solid rotation player. Still think he was a weird signing and match but his play has been steadily improving through preseason and he obviously had talent that showed through in NY last year. |
