Why are you using WU? I suppose it's still relevant for sending money overseas?
Use Venmo, zelle, PayPal, etc.
WU is excessively expensive and dated. |

Is it expensive or the sender or receiver? _________________ KOBE |

it is fairly expensive for the sender....depends on amount and to where you are sending. (for example, if i recall correctly, it cost about $25 to send $200 to Eastern Europe or Asia with funds being immediately available) If you are sending money for 100% legit legal reasons, it is probably not the most cost effective or efficient method, but to answer your question, it is very easy and works fine. Go to any location that offers Western Union complete a few lines on a pre printed form.....your name and info (or whatever name and info you choose to write), and the receivers name, location and amount sending. You will have a couple options like including a security question to ensure the correct receiver picks up funds and how quickly you want funds available (obviously, immediate availability is more expensive than 24 hours).

^^All fees are paid by the sender.
Try this estimator:
https://www.westernunion.com/us/en/send-money/app/price-estimator
You'll generate a "mtcn" number which you're supposed to give to the receiver so that they can pick up the money at a bank/WU receiving center. Know who you are dealing with, once they have this number, it is hard to get your money back.
Edit: Akindo broke it down quite well above |

With Money gram/ WU you can get the cash that night with just an ID. With Venmo/zelle/paypal you need a bank account in good standing, if you are overdrawn may have an issue. Also won't be able to get it right away in many cases. |

This is a very good reason why Bitcoins exist. Costs almost nothing to send any amount of money to anyone in the world. |

Depends on how you look at it. If she asks for $80, and you send $80, she gets like 67. If she asks for $80 and you send $93, she gets $80. (numbers are estimated based on minute cash transfer). I think Money Gram is cheaper. |

use remitly. pretty cool app. been using it for a couple of years now.
4.99 to send up to 3000. Whenever I'm in nomading in Asia I just remit myself a few G's at a time with no problem.
