That's surprising. I see a ton of them out on the road (though I do live in Los Angeles) and was considering it for my next car. _________________ 14-5-3-12 |

I was surprised too. I love mine, just got my red stickers for HOV Access until 2022 and I haven’t filled up the gas tank since July.
I’d still consider getting one. I got a used 2017 model in July for $24K. You can also get a $450 rebate check from So Cal Edison if you are the primary account holder. |

The US was literally the only market where the Volt had decent sales. In Europe they were generally poor sellers. |

Disappointing. I loved my 2017 Volt with ACC. The new version fixed my biggest complaint about it: a full 7.2 kWh charger instead of the weak 3.6 they had. I’ve since switched to a Model 3, but I heartily recommended the Volt to anyone who was interested in dipping their toes in driving electric. |

I got 60 miles consistently with my 2017. I only had to fill my tank after long trips up to San Francisco, or after many months of electric only driving. The car would periodically activate the gas engine to burn off some fuel to maintain it. If you went long enough without fueling, then it would burn fuel until there was less than half a tank left so you could refuel to keep the gas from going bad. Just a great car, but with a fairly cramped backseat. |

I think the advertised mileage is 53 miles. I get anout 49. But it all depends on driving style.
The models prior to 2016 only had around 37 miles so if you’re debating it, get a 2016 or newer for the added battery mileage. |

Disappointing. It's a lot more cars cut off than just the Volt too. One of the few hybrid/electric cars I actually recommend to people. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Word is that they are building a replacement in the form of a crossover or SUV type electric vehicle....if you look at the sales numbers of sedans, people are spurning them in favor of bigger vehicles. On the plus side its replacement will probably have a much longer range since it can carry a much bigger battery. |

Yep, and the people that are buying small cars and sedans these days are not Americans. The sales numbers of those types of cars have fallen in the US. |

I knew it was coming to Chevy since last year I think when Ford announced to discontinue to Taurus, Fiesta, Focus and other models. _________________ (❍ᴥ❍ʋ) ʕʘᴥʘʔ (⌐ ͡■ ͜ʖ ͡■) (┛◉Д◉)┛( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽ |

Per capita, Californians use half the gasoline as Texans.
Relatively cheap gasoline means people drive more with bigger cars( California has the most expensive gasoline in the US outside of Hawaii) So, no not yet.
Somewhere between 2020 and 2023 gasoline consumption in the US will start to go down.
It is already doing so in Europe. |

Literally, Volt had better sales in Canada on a per capita basis than the US.
Particularly in Quebec, Canadians loved the Volt.
In Europe, Volt had cross Atlantic shipping cost plus a 10% tariff added to the MSRP since it was not built locally.
You could buy a BMW 3 Series with the most powerful engine(outside of the M3) for roughly the same price as the Opel/Vauxhall Ampera( rebadged Volt). |
