You think owners are handing players contracts without a clause in place for this? |
I’n kidding man. All these hair-brained ideas to get Ariza in a Laker uniform and all=) |

Can the Wizards trade Ariza later this year if they are out of the playoff picture?
Ariza for KCP saves the Wizard a lot of money when you consider luxury tax savings. |

Yes Wizards can trade Ariza today if it is a 1 for 1 trade. And KCP for Ariza works financially. Probably won't happen, but it is possible.
Wizards can't trade Ariza this season combined with any other players since the 60 day wait expires after the trade deadline. Mainly because the NBA weirdly decided to push the NBA trade deadline earlier than it use to be. |

Let's hope Washington keeps losing. Then they might feel the need to just buyout Ariza upon his request to go to a contender... aka us. _________________ The road back to the top... |

Doubt they buy him out unless he leaves a good amount on the table.
If Washington is out of playoff contention and wants to drop below the luxury tax line, Lakers should offer this as two trades.
1. KCP for Ariza
2. Beasley, Zubac, 2nd for Morris
Lakers get Morris and Ariza, Wizards drop below luxury tax line. This trade would basically save them $10m dollars. |

You keep reiterating the same stuff. The bottom line is we are on a 50 win pace the with moves magic has made. Next season we will be even better.
So complain about magic all you want but at the end of the day this team is getting better and better. |

You know, Dwight Yoakam, he's a country musician. Mediocre player in the NBA, though most people don't know that. _________________ Never argue with stupid people! They will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience!! - Twain |

As I elaborated a couple of pages back - this particular trade would save the Wiz around $13.5mln+ (including lux taxes) and also removes them from repeater tax territory which is extremely important considering their salary commitments going forward. _________________ Major bullets dodged: DH12 - twice, LMA, Melo - twice, PG-13, DeMar DeRozan. The Lakers don't need Morris, per se. It is a simple math though - in order for Washington to be interested in this trade - they have to drop below the luxury tax line and these two transactions do the trick _________________ Major bullets dodged: DH12 - twice, LMA, Melo - twice, PG-13, DeMar DeRozan. It’s Lebron ball. Unfortunately not the development of our young players. Which is why trading for George or Leonard would have us in contention for the WCF. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

No one said that Lebron has hampered the development of our young players, that is on the players and organization. We see flashes which is good, but not so much when Lebron is 34. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Even though they didn't get him, Ariza is still helping the Lakers for at least one game because this trade leaves the Wizards shorthanded for today's game. |

My guess, is by the time all this is over, we will have a couple of our young guys left and a couple of greats along with some solid vets who can bring it on both ends.
The truth is, despite how we all love our youngsters, these youngsters would never learn how to win without a more balanced roster. Honestly, with all the youth we have had over the last few years, I don't think if we added Magic as a rookie, that even HE could have done much better.
What having a great player around with some solid middle of the road vets have showed me is that in ALL CASES, you have to have a balanced roster or you will never win in this league.
We are on our way back towards the top. There are no ifs ands or buts about it. You are holding onto your ego, let it go, it will set you free. _________________ Never argue with stupid people! They will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience!! - Twain |
