Yup. I think in his prime he can approximate PG offensively ; but not defensively. PG is a dog

Yeah. I don't see him as a lockdown artist or all-NBA level defender. But that type of player (i.e. 3rd team all NBA level).

Think
Tatum surpasses PG but even if that’s where he ends up, that’s more than most blockbuster trades return.

That would be great. Kuzma, Ingram, Ball, KCP and 2019 1st for AD. New line up:

PF-James/Wagner/Williams
SF-Hart/Beasley
C-Davis/McGee/Chandler
PG-Rondo/Caruso/Bonga
SG-Svi/Lance

Dang, when you put it on paper like that, you lose 3 starters and a key role player for AD (stud of all studs).

Without replenishing with solid vet buyouts, that's a pretty thin roster.

Probably gonna add Ariza and Carmelo on the buy out market.. after trading half of the depth on the roster.

That's not going to cut it for this year.

But would be a good foundation for 2019 FA. One injury to AD or LBJ and we'd be screwed. But we'd have a good amount of cap space to fill out the team (though we wouldn't have a max spot IIRC).

I was just correcting the rotations. Davis isn't playing center when he's a natural PF, there's no Kuz, and McGee and Chandler are still here xD

Also Lebron is not playing PF and Beasley is not playing SF

I'm still not a fan of the Davis trade because of what we have to give up

If we do trade 3 of the young core, it will certainly hurt us rotation wise. I don't think LBJ/AD is enough to take down the Warriors this year.

But with a good amount of cap space (not sure the number, but we would be in the 20m+ range or slight higher), we could fill out the team around 2 top 5 players. But it would require a lot of luck to fill out the team though we would be a top 3 team in 2019-20.

AD is costly (worth it to me). But if we don't get him I still think we can be championship caliber (if the Warriors lose one of KD/Klay, notably KD).

I agree its not enough. Thats why its key to sign a Max FA in the offseason and then go for AD.

It would require perfect health on the Lakers (Rondo/LBJ already hurt, AD injury prone) AND the Warriors losing one of KD/Steph or both.

Would set up one heck of a foundation, but yeah losing 2-3 starters/role players would affect depth tremendously.

That's a laughably bad trade offer though, New Orleans wouldn't even take that call. Any trade package is FOR SURE including at least Kuzma and at least two out of three of Lonzo/Ingram/Hart. Possibly all four.

Lol at getting AD without giving up even one of Kuzma, Ball, Ingram. It will take minimum 2.

Come on man. This guy is an idiot. He looks for clicks. I saw one of his tweets a few weeks ago and he doesn't even know the CBA.

I wouldn’t say complete idiot. He has some sources tbh.

Didn’t he nail the Markelle Fultz motorcycle accident injury?

According to WOJ he likely heard about the motorcycle incident on radio (Woj thinks Brandon has no sources).

To show how much of a hack ScoopB is, I read Dan's twitter:

Oh crap wait. Is ScoopB the guy who started the Josh Hart is untouchable thread? Mind blown.

AH, there's some late first rounders thrown in. Howe will the Celtics ever match that.

Yeah, i missed that. But it's still not enough. Celtics have 4 first rounders this year plus as many future picks as the Lakers want to offer, so the picks thing is moot. BI does not look much better than Jaylen right now and they both have the same cost control. Jaylen might be cheaper to resign since he doesn't have delusions of being a future MVP. Moe is a strictly garbage time player so far. You can find a Josh hart with one of those 4 picks if not better.

This is gonna end with Lakers and Celtics played against each other. Pels will either get Tatum or 2 of Kuz/BI/Lonzo.

Regardless of the short term effect, if he demands it and you can land him for just 3 of the youngsters you do it.

I'd be interested to see how creative they could get to keep the right piece. I'd assume NO would want BI, Kuzma and three 1sts and even Hart with fillers. To counter, youd have to consider how FA as a whole plays out. If they think they'll be able to get Javale on a 2 yr room exception (2nd yr PO) and a wink for bigger money after his bird rights then great. If not, instead of losing him, maybe he becomes a pick from a 3rd team to help keep Kuzma.

Something like KCP spun for a high 2nd, Javale for a low 1st, two of your 1sts and BI, Ball and likely Hart. That allows you to form a potent 4 of LBJ, Davis, Kuzma and Kemba (with the leftover aprox 27M). If you can keep Kuzma and save something close to a max slot next year, you have to be pretty open to a large quantity of youth and picks going out.

You are absolutely delusional if you think a trade centered around Ingram and Hart is enough to get ANTHONY FREAKING DAVIS. I mean if you offered that for Luka Doncic, you'd be laughed out the building by Dallas. I don't even think the Kings would accept Ingram + Hart for D'Aron Fox.

C'mon man, gotta be realistic. Kuzma and at least two out of three of Lonzo, Ingram, and Hart PLUS our draft picks (which won't be that good compared to celtics' picks) is the minimum it will take.

We traded

Kwame 5.7 PPG
Crittenden 3.3 PPG
Aaron McKie 2.1 PPG who retired right after
Marc Gasol who never played in the NBA at the time

Plus two picks for Pau who later became Donte Greene and Greivis Vasquez

We traded

Jerry Chambers 8.3 career PPG
Archie Clark 16.3
Darrall Imhoff 7.2 and 7 rebounds

No picks for Chamberlain

We traded

Junior Bridgeman 13.6 career PPG
Dave Meyers 11.2
Elmore Smith 13.4 PPG 10.6 RPG
Brian Winters 16.2

No picks for Kareem

We signed Shaq for free

The closest thing to trading our core... is probably the Kareem trade

But even then... I think our core is better than that group.

So we are talking about trading more assets for AD than we gave up for Kareem, Wilt, or Pau... and we got Shaq for free.

Milwaukee improved 28 games the year Kareem joined them.

The Pelicans record barely changed when AD joined them.

Yet we are considering trading more pieces away than for Kareem?

In what universe is AD more valuable than Kareem?

I'm down with those two of the core for AD trades... but no way do they accept it.

So you all have to ask yourself... do you want to give up more for AD than we did for all of our hall of fame centers?

I say no way is he worth it.

Wait, and sign him later.

Lebron will be turning 36 in 2020, so you have to go all in on this short window. We can't wait to sign him. Plan A is to sign a megastar this coming Summer 2019. If that fails, you have to try to get AD by trading the core. There's no other scenario where we can compete for titles in the next couple of years without landing a megastar.
