Just watched it and was pleasantly surprised. A Democrat who talked for nearly 2 hours with no platitudes, an actual path to his policies, no identity politics (even pushed against it a bit at one point), and has a very matter of fact, data driven, pro entrepreneur approach? Why is he not getting more play?
Dude just about talked me into UBI for crying out loud lol. Gotta learn more about him but what a breath of fresh air for team blue IMO.
We need more people like him to run on both sides of the aisle.
(Oh, and this guy actually gets technology. Huge plus in my book). |
There's nothing in this post I can disagree with. Indeed, this of all the posts on this page made me the happiest. Thanks RF.
Volt this Omar. |

I'm far from a Bernie bro. But I imagine he'd fare better against Trump in a debate than Warren would.
But that's just my assumption. And who knows if debating Trump will matter much. General Election debates will be pretty late into the cycle. Most people will probably be dug in as pro-Trump or anti-Trump at that point.
Across the board the Democratic candidates have low disapproval ratings. So I'm not worried about the nominee being disliked so much that Dems stay home. Whether it's Warren, Bernie or another progressive. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

Trump never won a debate. But his followers don't even know what a debate is so it never mattered. He always wins arguments because no one in his circle dares to contradict him. When somebody calls him out or fact-changes him he just walks away, see Jim Acosta. _________________ “Properly read, the bible is the most potent force for atheism ever conceived.”

And they pay very high taxes to have it. Not just the rich. All of them. And that’s the soft lie that’s being sold. You can have everything and someone else (the rich!) will pay for it. No, you will.
IMO, it is the right thing to do, but I think we need to approach it realistically and honestly. |
The very high tax is less than what people are paying right now for health care. This is a non issue. If I’m spending five dollars now paying for healthcare, and tomorrow I’m paying four dollars...it’s still less regardless of who the payment is going to.
It’s complex, many gloss over it, but it’s extremely doable. |
People hate healthcare providers. It shouldn't be a hard sell to change the current system. |

I guess he'll cave and follow the norm of presidential debates since, as you note, his buffoonery and ignorance will be played off as genius by Fox News and his acolytes. And he'll no doubt think he'll do well.
But I do wonder how many debates he'll actually participate in. I could see him doing one, declaring himself great and his opponent a joke, and then just holding rallies carried live by Fox News. _________________ Under New Management |

Terrorist voters? |
Wrinkly balls? |
Apropos:
Quote: | The desire of so many Democrats to finally elect the first woman president, along with differences in age (Warren is 69; Sanders is 77), could ultimately help decide how the progressive vote breaks. But there are also deeply rooted and sincere ideological tensions that separate the friendly Senate colleagues.
Sanders, a democratic socialist, and Warren, a capitalist to her "bones," both describe the American economy and political system as "rigged" to benefit rich corporate interests. But they have diverging views on the roots of the problem and the depths of reform needed to break its grip.
Warren believes government-enforced restrictions, like those outlined in her "Accountable Capitalism Act," could unwind a decades-long trend of consolidation at what she describes as the "tippy top" of the economic ladder. Sanders argues that the rot goes much deeper and that a fundamental reordering of the economy -- most purely viewed in his long crusade for single-payer health care, which would cut the private sector out of one of America's largest industries -- is required to empower a "political revolution."
They diverge -- narrowly -- on health care. Warren is a cosponsor of Sanders' Medicare for all legislation, but she has not ruled out a role for private insurers going forward.
"There are multiple bills on the floor in the United States Senate. I've signed onto Medicare for all. I've signed on to another one that gives an option for buying in to Medicaid. There are different ways we can get there," Warren said in a recent interview with Bloomberg. "But the key has to be always keep the center of the bull's-eye in mind. And that is affordable health care for every American."
Sanders, who, like Warren, has signed on to more moderate bills, isn't opposed to incremental steps. But his endgame is simple: to remove big business, and with it the profit incentive, from any meaningful role in Americans' health care. |

On the notion that the Mueller probe could end soon:
CNN Report: LINK
Quote: | Washington (CNN)Attorney General Bill Barr is preparing to announce as early as next week the completion of special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation, with plans for Barr to submit to Congress soon after a summary of Mueller's confidential report, according to people familiar with the plans.
The preparations are the clearest indication yet that Mueller is nearly done with his almost two-year investigation. |
Seth Abramson on the same:
Quote: | I finally watched that Pete Williams clip from yesterday in which he discusses on MSNBC his "reporting" that Mueller will deliver a report to DOJ in the next week or two. Those who told me about it did not *also* specify that Williams clearly says, "this is just our speculation."
Pete apparently based his "reporting" on signs he personally considered persuasive, most having to do with the debunked theory that Rod Rosenstein has been empowered to decide he'll only leave DOJ when the Mueller report is done, so this is not a scheduled—and enforced—departure.
The truth: Rosenstein said at the time he began at DOJ that he'd only serve 2 years—and once the incoming AG told him he'd bring in his own team that plan was confirmed. Also, Rosenstein recommended Barr for the job—and so appears not to be afraid Barr will end the Mueller probe.
Everyone, *including Pete Williams* in yesterday's "report," agrees that the Mueller investigation is as leakproof an investigation as they've ever seen in or out of D.C. So there's no reason to think that MSNBC, or even anyone at DOJ, has special insight into Mueller's timeline. |

Does it have any defense from being stopped?
Only defense is "Obstruction" charges that would still take a long time to impeach on? |

Watching McCabe make the rounds makes me think the investigation is in good hands and every angle has been thought of in case Trump tried to shut it down. |
