The Lakers really have to get their act together.
While the Buss siblings bicker, the Clippers across town is not run by Sterling anymore. They have a billionaire owner and a great coach. And a stable organization. Read the latest Bleacher Report story and you will see what is meant. |

That same twitter personality said Jeanie Buss is vetoing any return of Jerry West to the Lakers.

Many within Lakers Organization want Jerry West back with the Front Office, however According to a source close to the situation @JeanieBuss is still “a hard no” on Jerry West

Rob Pelinka who contacted Clippers in regards to Jerry West did it without Jeannie Buss blessing.

This is all a bunch of BS... the dude is trolling hard and people are falling for it.
Maybe Lakers reach out to Jerry. Maybe they don't. Thew way he wrote it, he can make himself look credible.
Let's Woj reports Lakers talked to Jerry: He claims Jeanie came around
If we never hear a peep about Lakers/Jerry: Jeanie firmly vetoed it
It's that easy. He was never wrong and people (dumb ones) fall for it. |
Or maybe he just has inside information. |
Regardless, until that inside information becomes outside information, it’s just forum fodder. I await the time to react, piss and moan about it, get over it, and hope my team plays possession to possession with optimum effort, efficiency, and hopefully a little swagger. _________________ DEAR BASKETBALL |

If and when we lose our first big name FA that we wanted to the Clipps, it's gonna be a new level of sorrow. So far, they haven't done it, but Kawhi could easily go to them lest they F it up. They're less apt to F up than us. Brawn better be pulling his weight this Summer. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL

Kobe will eventually have some role with the organization if Rob Pelinka is our acting GM or Preisent OBO.
Can I dream about Kobe playing again? Just one more year of limited minutes only in crunch time, just do it for us Kobe! We love you!
but seriously, how cool would it be to have KOBE on staff for mentorship and recruiting? oh and to have him play again just one more time |

lol I went through this phase the first year after he retired, I wanted to think there was a chance. He is absolutely not coming back to the Lakers in any way shape or form. I've never seen someone so adamant about what they want to do, and he's stated more times than I can count that he will not be working for the Lakers again (although you never know 10 years down the line). |

Pelinka's 1st interview with Monty and Ty:
Pelinka: So are you still interested in the position despite it being a (bleep)?
Them: Yes
Pelinka: Even though I might not be your boss?
Them: Yes
Pelinka: What about the backstabbing?
Them: Yes
Pelinka: Even though you might develop a heart condition coaching Lebron in LA?
Them: Yes
Pelinka: Ok we'll be in touch |

I can't see Kobe going into any type of managerial position after his basketball career. Just because he would be consumed with it like his playing career....the pay also is pitiful compare to his ventures in entertainment. |

its pretty good money to add to other ventures. Plus you dont think Kobe would want to looked at as the guy who turned lakers around. |

I honestly don't think Kobe gives a (bleep) about the Lakers success, he's just tryna live his post NBA life _________________ “Life is too short. You have to keep it moving.” - Kobe |

@NickWright
Source: The Buss family & Rob Pelinka signed off on hiring Ty Lue last week. Kurt & Linda Rambis were the only parties opposed, and convinced the Lakers to hold off, which lead to today
If Jeanie keeps siding with the Rambii….Pelinka will bail next.
Unless he is sly enough to be outing Jeanie's info to the public....thus forcing her to change course. He is the only one at this point in her inner circle that can.
Pelinka help save the Lakers. He's smart enough to do it. |

That is actually a legit interesting thought lol
Not like I’m exactly in Rob’s corner but that’s the kind of planning I’d expect from a vet agent like him. Interesting _________________ Austin Reaves

Ok Vic...would you care if we win 20 games next year and Clipps sign KL and make a deep play off run? Just curious... |

You think that's what would happen? Why wouldn't she just name Kurt as GM and PBO. That is probably Linda's plan all along. |

It's gotten to the point now where I'm rooting for Pelinka to stay. If he flakes out like Magic there's little doubt those two will just be elevated. |

Got blasted a while back for saying Pelinka is a puppet.
Well, he is still a puppet. No? |

Hmmm.
Interesting.
I wonder if Magic is really upset at Kurt and not Rob.
Or Magic is working with Kurt to sabotage Rob.
All of this is a mess. |

I don't think Kurt is necessarily the problem, but more the symptom. The problem is Jeannie allowing Kurt, and Linda, to be factors at all.
They have 6 or 7 people meeting head coaches -- they're going to keep going until they find one who ALL of them can approve? Yikes. |

BTW, I was listening to the Laker Film Room podcast, and Darius brought up a really great point.
It was reported that Pelinka underestimated Lue's lack of leverage in negotiations.
But that's how you might approach a player contract negotiation, not coaching, and particularly not one that is still being paid from his previous employer. |

What if Pelinka is really the outsider trying to come in and clear out the organization of all the "old guard" like Magic/Rambis, etc.?
I mean, who knows, but I'm going to laugh so hard if that gets revealed down the road. The crow will be plentiful. |

That's why I feel like the Lakers didn't really want Lue.
In today's coaching climate, I think most would have thought the deal to be on the lower end side. |

That would be some crazy stuff too.
There were also reports that said Jeannie and Linda liked Rob. So there's that. |
