I have been a a big fan of Glen Hansard ever since I was late night channel surfing and caught the great, very low budget movie that actually works, Once. The song from it, Falling Slowing, is an enchanting melodic masterpiece, winning an Oscar for best original song, as heard here with scenes from the movie. He was with the group the Frames who have many really good lp's. He is an exceptional songsmith.
I just caught this Paste Studio session with Glen doing four new songs. Every single one is really good. He has a bit of a Cat Stevens vibe, the really good Cat Stevens, no less. _________________ "A metronome keeps time by using a Ringo"
Can't wait, love the singles they've released. If you like The National, check out the Gang of Youths song I posted above, "Do Not Let Your Spirit Wane," similar vibe, sound like something the National would make

I hope hip hop is allowed in this thread:
I'm a fan of rap that feels like a person talking to you. That's my favorite talent of Pacs. It's why he's the GOAT IMO. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”
Tal Wilkenfeld. If the name isn't familiar, she was Jeff Beck's bassist on and off for a few years. Her new album is called Love Remains. Here is a song from it when she opened for The Who.
Here she is with Beck and Billy Gibbons doing a KILLER VERSION of 16 Tons.

I got to see her play when she guested with Gov't Mule several years back and she was spectacular. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

Absolutely!:

It starts of slow, then builds and builds, just give it time... _________________ “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.”

OK. So I got inspired by all the choices and have made a Spotify playlist of all the tunes so far - at least where I could. Some stuff just isn't on there, but if the artist is on Spotify I picked one of their more popular tunes if the one listed here wasn't available. In instances where people picked whole albums or just named an artist, I picked a tune from the album or artist.
I will try to keep it as up to date as I can. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know
