No need they got Baez... What a top of the 8th. He's not the same guy from 2 years ago. |

That was very impressive, yes. Still, they need more from their bullpen as a whole. |

^^^^ Cingrani is coming back soon. Stripling and Urias headed to the pen as well. |

Maybe with the exception of Urias (if they kept him in the bullpen for the playoffs), Stripling and Cingrani are not late-inning playoff options that I want on the bump. |

He can throw the change up for strikes. |

They don't have a good lineup but they have one of the best ERA's in baseball. |

I kinda don't get it, at least logically:
Jansen is trash and Baez is great.
Yes, there may be different expectations for each (possibly unreasonable), but the extremes with which many pass judgment is not only inaccurate, but it is not productive to discussion.
Jansen has had two or three costly pitches (his WHIP is still .8) that cost the team a game (he was bailed out on another), but he still has 9 saves, is second in the league in that department, and has a 90% save rate--though yes it could be 80%, which is still pretty good, in fact better than a number of HOF'ers. Baez had a great day yesterday, but his overall numbers are nothing to rave about. _________________ "A metronome keeps time by using a Ringo" |

Another save where Kenley looked shaky. I get it that his peripherals still look great. But I just watch his appearances and nothing looks easy for him anymore. |

They're a solid team but def play like an AAA farm club when they come to Dodger stadium. |

Almost gave up that token solo jack with 2 outs last night as well which would've cut the lead in half. |

Well, there is "shaky" with a 3.07 ERA, 10 saves, and blown save; and there is the rest of the bully with a 4.98 ERA, no saves, and 4 blown saves. _________________ "A metronome keeps time by using a Ringo" |

Dude bumped his elbow in Chicago and that's what has caused all this. Dude is made of glass. No matter, it's probably for the best, anyway. This is also why I think they were reluctant to trade either Joc or especially Verdugo. Now they can play all 3, and it also should be a little bit easier to find AB's for Taylor now, and maybe that will help to get him going. |

We'll see what happens, but Corey Kluber just got hit on his pitching elbow on a line drive, and had to leave the game. Mike Clevenger is already out for at least a couple more months for them. They are still likely to be contending in June if I had to guess, but if for some reason their season goes off the rails, teams are going to be calling on Trevor Bauer, who is now one of the 10 best starting pitchers in the game. Free agent after next season. Has said he will go year-to-year on contracts for the rest of his career to maximize value. If he's made available, the Dodgers really, truly need to go hard after him. His slider is straight-up filth.
If they could get someone like him, I wonder if they could decide to keep Urias in the bullpen for the postseason, should they get there. And maybe Urias becomes their best version of Josh Hader for this postseason. It would also be a way to keep his innings down for sure.
My mind is racing. I hope Kluber isn't hurt badly but I'm just trying to think practically. |

Seager is in a massive funk. I never was a fan of his approach but he always still overcame his Vladdy-like aggression with just good bat-to-ball skills. He's not barreling it up this year yet. Hope he gets it together. Until then, he has no business hitting #2 in the order. Bellinger has been hitting 4-6 for the most part, and he needs to be moved up. Verdugo hit 8th tonight, and he's better than Seager right now. Move him down, Dave. |

I'd like to take this moment to point out that currently, Muncy & Hernandez have done as well (or better) than Machado and Harper on the season. |

So far I am impressed with this team. Especially with Bellinger and Ryu. Both have been excellent. I think we have another shot this year. |
