Jeez... if the choice is between those two I'd rather wait until the allstar break and see if Jesus Shuttleworth wants to come back and work himself into shape before the playoffs start.

You know this is wrong because Nets can pursue Irving and Durant and keep Dlo as a RFA until they need to execute a contract.. They only would need to renounce him when Durant and Irving are ready to actually sign. |

IMO AD will be around for awhile. He's a player that can be built around and he's young and talented enough to take the bet. |
I do not want to re litigate the trade, but your statement is clearly true in a vacuum...the issue is when the team took most of their assets off the table to use in building around him or any player his level. Nobody is going to argue that signing in FA Davis and building around him is a great plan, but that assumes you have the tools at your disposal to build around him.
What is done is done....but it is imperative the Lakers are extremely careful how they move forward. There needs to be some risk with young undervalued talent...there needs to be youth in general....there needs to be a real vision. If we go the route of overpaying 30+ year old declining role players, we will end up in a similar position as New Orleans did with AD.
On the Windhorst podcast, Ramona said when asked about everything given up in the AD trade, a Lakers FO employee responded "we could be killed by an asteroid tomorrow"! That is very scary that person may have input to this teams vision and strategy. |
Note the bold green. Jeannie took a leap. If it pays off Jeannie will be touted as OOTY (Owner Of The year) Look at our roster.
Isaac Bonga 19
Reggie Bullock 25
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope 25
Talen Horton-Tucker 19
Jemerrio Jones 24
Kyle Kuzma 23
Mike Muscala 27
Moritz Wagner 22
Johnathan Williams 24
As you say there is risk. No risk, no gain. AD is expected, by some, to bring a ship next season. It may happen, it may not. IMO the organization is on the right track.
We have shot at the Larry O'Brien next season, A SHOT. Remember we haven't made the playoffs is 6, countum, 6 years. If by chance we make the finals, win a ship, IMO Jeannie can be renamed Genius. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Here is a list of current active players with more minutes played:
Paul George
Damian Lillard
Kemba Walker
Demarcus Cousins
Right behind him within 500 minutes:
Kyrie Iriving

Where is the “keep Kuzma ($1,974,600), guarantee Jones ($1,416,852) salary, complete trade as over the cap team” to create the max slot? Could further include sign-and-trade Caruso and Davis keeps the trade kicker. |

Here is the way it is going down....we will have $32 Million in Cap Space...
Wagner, Bonga and Jones will be traded
signing DLo for $22 Million
signing KCP for Room Exception
signing Noel for $3 Million
signing Ben McLemore (or JR Smith) for minimum
maintaining Bullock Cap Hold $4.75 Million
DLo / Caruso / ?
KCP / Bullock / Ben McLemore (or JR Smith)
Lebron / ? / Talen Horton Tucker
Kuzma / ? / ?
AD / Noel / Jonathan Williams (may leave Williams on 2 Way if we plan on leaving more than 1 roster spot open)
have about $2-$3 million for a guy....rest (2-3 players) will be minimum guys.... |

I like it but I would prefer AD at the 4. We sign a real big man that can bang downlow. Denadre Jordan/JaVale is my preference
DLO
KCP
LeBron
AD
DAJ or JaVale |

Players who I think might go for the min.
Lin, IT, Payton, Frazier, Tyus Jones (UFA) but if the Timerwolves get D'Lo, D-Rose (maybe)
Wes Matthews, Rivers, Justin Holiday, Ellington, Carter, James Ennis, Burke, Shumpret (maybe?), McLemore
Sefolosha, Jeff Green, Dudley, W Chandler, Carroll, Ariza, Vonleh, Tolliver, Gibson, Hezonja, Burke, Melo
JaMychal Green, Noel (he's got a player option), O'Quinn, Robin Lopez, Noah, Monroe, Pau, Javale, T Chandler,
Korver and JR Smith could both get brought out or waived at somepoint. _________________ Coach MWP.

JR won a championship as a 4th option, and been to the finals 3 more times. During that span, averaged 10ppg and shot 40% from 3pt range on six attempts a game in the playoffs. Melo is a better player individually, but so far in his career hasnt shown to be capable of being a 4th option, much less a reliable 3pt shooting one. Id take neither but given the choice, give me JR _________________ 48 49 50 52 53 54 72 80 82
