Lakers can’t go the grow young talent route. Looks like try for the Greek freak in 21? He did say he will stay with Bucks but 2 years is a long time. _________________ The journey to 17 begins... |

If the Lakers keep going through this "Well we'll get a max eventually" route AGAIN... I don't think their fans should have to put up with that nonsense.
They put up with it 2012-2015 and then watched the current FO get rid of everything they got from that time period over a 2 season period and now spearheading the Lakers back into that direction again should this season go bad up.
So...

This has been going on for well over a decade now.
It's not entertaining anymore.
I'm just looking forward to seeing the on-court product next season.
With good health, we might have a very good season.
If not, sitting and waiting for Greek Freak to spurn us in 2021 is not how I want to spend the next years.

The Lakers have been handing out 2 year contracts. I'm guessing they're going for 2021 free agency.
The Lakers have to do a better job of reading the landscape. Kawhi didn't seem to have a strong interest in signing with the Lakers. At best, they were the back-up if the Clippers couldn't land another star.
The Lakers need to be open to multiple names in free agency. There may have been other stars that would've gone to the Lakers this off-season if the Lakers had broadened their scope. |

Don’t have much of a choice. We are signing 2 year so in 21, only Lebron, AD and Deng on the books. _________________ The journey to 17 begins... |

When Kawhi and PG are hobbled by injuries in their 30s, we'll roll with a 26 year old Giannis and a 28 year old AD. |

The Greek Freak Giannis
There is a reason why Jason Kidd is the highest paid assistant coach in the league.
I guess you didn't read Eric Pincus article on this possible long play on bleacher report a few months ago. |

Giannis seems pretty loyal to the team that has groomed him. That's another
very very long shot. _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team ! |

Giannis was devastated when Bucks fired Jason Kidd.
Also Milwaukee committed a ton of money this money to other players on their team. When Giannis is due for a super max deal in summer 2021 it may be a similar situation like what happened to Kemba Walker this summer.
Milwaukee is a small market and their ownership may not be willing to go and pay the luxury tax for years if they keep and sign Giannis to a super max deal that is going to be over $200 million. |

So? What’s the alternative? Sign Quin Cook and KCP to 4 year deals? |

Bucks ownership is a lot richer than Lakers ownership. And that Mallory Edens. Wow! |

Giannis is the only one that’s franchise. Hope Kidd and Lebron can do a 2 year courtship and Bucks keep having first round exits. If not, rebuild with role players.
Unrestricted Free Agents
Lebron James
Giannis Antetekounmpo
Anthony Davis
Paul George
Damian Lillard
Demar Derozan
Russell Westbrook
Rudy Gobert
Gordon Hayward
Bradley Beal _________________ The journey to 17 begins... |

They will be one of the worst organisation if they don't offer the supermax to Giannis. This is different to the Kemba Walker situation. They are not the same level of player. |

every other team try to build a roster and sees how far it will take them before abdonding and trying to improve via trade or (bleep)
lakers try to create space, temporary roster and keep waiting for FAs
patience is key
Cook
Green
Lebron
Kuz
AD
THT, Melo, KCP, Dudley, Troy Daniels
healthy is a top 3 team in the west
Lonzo
Green
Ingram
Lebron
Mcgee
#4, Hart, Melo, Dudley, Troy Daniels, Cook Kuz etc
healthy is still a top 5 team in the west. Could have ran it till dec or jan and made moves if struggling
i would argue
if it was Lonzo, X, Ingram, Lebron, Mcgee. Butler or Kawhi would have joined. I think their competitive nature wants them not comprise a super mega team. _________________ I got Nothing interesting to put here |
