It would be ironically perfect if someone breeched this site. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel |

If you want to check your credit try this LINK It's no cost. I use it. You're not asked any information that's harmful. I had a delinquent account with Time Warner I didn't know about. It was killing me. Esperian made me aware. I paid a age old $75.00 delinquent. My credit score went through the roof. I'm monitored and get decrease and increase information periodically. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Wasn't Equifax awarded some government deal around the same time the data breach was revealed? |

Note: The max is $125 I believe. If the number of claims exceeds a certain number, it will be less than that as the “pool” will be evenly divvied up. |

If there were an LG Poster of the Year Award (and why isn't there?) than Governator has my nod.
Thanks to his information, I just got confirmation that my SSN was indeed breached in this incident and more importantly $125.
I think I love you. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Tip if anyone is interested:
In lieu of credit monitoring, you can set up a Fraud Alert on Experian where a creditor will have to call the # you listed in order to verify it is in fact you before approving credit. It lasts for 3 months at a time. Set yourself a reminder and renew it every 3 months. Safest way to avoid someone applying for credit with your info.
Experian will automatically send the info to Equifax and Transunion so it's quite simple. |

This is a good idea.
Also, John Oliver's Last Week Tonight did a show about Equifax a couple of years ago and created a handy website to help you freeze your credit so creditors can't create an account with your SSN without contacting you first:

Yeah. I believe then cutoff for $125 is 248,000 claimants.
So, that comes out to roughly 2.5M claimants for $12.50 and 25M for $1.25. |
