They got "Unfinished Business." They don't need any more assets. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

All in friendly contracts. |
KCP and Rondo don't have friendly contracts because they have de facto no-trade clauses. |
If Rondo is barely playing, why does he stay in LA? Does he think he's gonna get some big multi-year offer? I think if it's the right situation/city, he would go.
KCP is trickier, but again, if it's a team hurting for guards, I can see him going. I still think both he and Rondo would sign off on a Miami trade. Riley is the perfect GM for Rich Paul to negotiate with, a guy who overpays role players. You also can't rule out another team seeing KCP the way the Lakers did two years ago: a way to talk to Rich Paul about his other clients. |
Is Rondo looking for a post-retirement coaching gig? I've assumed that's why he's sticking around. |
Yup. Or his family has relocated out to LA I presume. I think some foolish team would have paid him more than the minimum (not much more) but he wants to be around LA. |
I don't buy this at all. I think he'd be out of the league if it weren't for the Lakers. |
Eh. Teams will always fall in love with "winners" and "vets" like Rondo. I'm not saying he gets a 20m deal, but maybe even 3-4m/year to be a "mentor." _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I don't think that moves the needle for the Clippers at all. Besides, I bet Whiteside is part of a Portland trade for Kevin Love. _________________ Under New Management |

Maybe he thought Harkless+ for Iguodala was going down
Him and the Somali Pirate seem to think they are core players on the clippers. They should talk to Blake Griffin... |

In all honesty I’m more interested in sending Kuz to Boston for Brown straight up. |

There is some uncertainty about the salary cap for next season, so teams are conservative with their offers at the moment. Next summer, the fog will have cleared and teams can be more aggressive in negotiations.
I don't think that many players will actually take the qualifying offer path so they can leave their current teams in summer 2021. |

How bout keeping Kuz becuz he is better than Brown and Hield. Plus he is bigger, cheaper and we have way too many SFs/guards on this team.
Kuz will be better than Turner as well. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

I think Hield/Turner would contribute more right now than Kuz. And Hield would fit a crucial need for us as a shooter (though he's another guard).
But the main problem is all these guys would on paper, jeopardize 2021 max cap space (assuming China hasn't lowered our cap space by 7-8m) if they are extended. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Why are we trading Kuz again? And for Jaylen Brown of all people? _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

Hield just turned down a four year, 100 million dollar contract. He wants 110 million for four years. Kuz is on ... 3 mil a year? We can't afford Hield |

I think Ibaka makes the most sense for them. Instant chemistry with Kawhi and you can potentially re-sign him for cheap allowing you to retain Harrell. Toronto could be interested in a package of Zu/Robinson but I could easily see them being outbid. I don't see any other realistic moves that would upgrade their frontcourt any better. They're in the last phase of building a real contender and don't have much room for error. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

I could chip in a few grand per year if you've got $109M and change lying around.
Now Jeanie Buss? She can afford Buddy Hield.
You don't think Kuz will be asking for a $100M + contract in 2021? _________________ Under New Management |

Wouldn't be enough. Ibaka (like Adams) makes over 20 mil a year, Zu+Robinson makes 10. Chuck in Beverly and you might have a trade |
