Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton said Friday the Russians are currently "grooming" a Democrat running in the presidential primary to run as a third-party candidate and champion their interests.
The comment appears to be directed at Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who has been accused of being cozy with Russia in the past.
"I'm not making any predictions, but I think they've got their eye on somebody who is currently in the Democratic primary and are grooming her to be the third-party candidate," Clinton said, speaking on a podcast with former Obama adviser David Plouffe. "She's the favorite of the Russians."
Clinton never names Gabbard, but there are only five women running for President -- Gabbard, California Sen. Kamala Harris, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar and author Marianne Williamson -- and none of the other woman have been accused of being boosted by Russia.
"They have a bunch of sites and bots and other ways of supporting her so far," Clinton said.
Gabbard and her spokespeople did not respond to questions from CNN.
"If the nesting doll fits," Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill said when asked if the former secretary of state was referring to Gabbard.

It makes sense from a Russian point of view. The Russians want Trump, but due to his ineptitude in governing and servitude to Putin, only open mouth breathers are likely to vote for him (approximately 40% of the voter base). If the Russians find a Dem willing to run as a third-party candidate, they can exploit the schism between the moderate wing from the socialist wing of the Party.
I'm sure the Russians would want a stronger candidate, but Gabbard seems to be a tool ripe for exploitation, so to speak. |

She's on Fox News more than some Republicans. I don't know who she thinks she's fooling. Cause it's not Dem voters. Maybe she has a job lined up if/when she looses her House seat.
Her answer on impeachment. Her framing of the Syrian conflict. She's getting her talking points from the same place Trump is. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”

Those damn peaceniks and their green new deals... If I'm remembering the Mueller indictments correctly, it was like 1 or 2 ads on Facebook from that Russian troll farm that promoted her. With a well-oiled machine like that behind her there should be no stopping Gabbard from her "mission".

Quote: | GOP Representative Francis Rooney said he was “shocked” by acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney’s comments Thursday that aid for Ukraine was withheld in part to pressure that country to investigate Democrats. He said he didn’t believe Mulvaney’s later statement walking back those comments.
“How in life can you do those kinds of things when you’ve just said it right there on national TV?” Rooney said. “It’s not an etch-a-sketch.”
The Florida Republican said there’s still “a lot of water to flow down under the bridge” on impeachment, without specifying where he stands on the House inquiry.
“I want to get the facts and do the right thing,” Rooney said. “Because I’ll be looking at my children a lot longer than I’m looking at anybody in this building.” -- Dan Flatley |

The Russian effort to divert votes to Jill Stein was more extensive than previously thought
Quote: | More than a thousand tweets were sent about the Green Party candidate by Russian operatives looking to help Donald Trump. |
Quote: | One example NBC News highlighted was an Instagram account called @woke_blacks, which shared pro-Stein images in the run-up to the election and dismissed valid criticism that votes for Stein would help Donald Trump’s candidacy in crucial swing states.
Black voters were one of the main targets of Russia’s propaganda effort. Previous disclosures by investigators looking into Russia’s election manipulation campaign have noted that a central pillar of their interference game plan involved stoking racial animosity via social networks. It was a tactic mirrored by the Trump campaign itself, which went so far as to admit they specifically tried to suppress the turnout of black voters on election day.
The NBC News analysis found that Russians working with the infamous Internet Research Agency — the Kremlin-linked propaganda outfit with close ties to Putin — tweeted out Jill Stein’s name at least 1,000 times, on a network of fake accounts whose online reach is thought to be in the tens of millions. |

Tulsi wasn't the least bit overly defensive or paranoid in her reaction here at all...
Quote: | Tulsi Gabbard @TulsiGabbard
Great! Thank you @HillaryClinton . You, the queen of warmongers, embodiment of corruption, and personification of the rot that has sickened the Democratic Party for so long, have finally come out from behind the curtain. From the day I announced my candidacy, there has been a ...... concerted campaign to destroy my reputation. We wondered who was behind it and why. Now we know — it was always you, through your proxies and ...... powerful allies in the corporate media and war machine, afraid of the threat I pose.
It’s now clear that this primary is between you and me. Don’t cowardly hide behind your proxies. Join the race directly. |
So I wonder who Tulsi voted for in 2016? Because it would have been Clinton, Trump or Stein, right?
But seriously folks, that tweet could have been written by Trump or Putin and it would sound exactly the same. |

So one Facebook ad and the spread of @woke_blacks. I'll throw in RT, too, although I'm not sure how many people watch that. I cut the cord years ago. Is it even on cable systems?

You keep ignoring all the other evidence and cherry picking the bits and pieces that already confirm your belief. The article I linked to above was based on a bi-partisan Senate investigation and report. And then there was the Mueller report. But whatever dude. Have no idea why you're so invested in giving Jill Stein and Russia the benefit of the doubt. |

I read the article. That's where I got the NBC link from. New Knowledge also worked with that Senate Intel committee, IIRC. I have no idea why you and so many others feel the need to throw Jill Stein under the bus (I get why Clinton does it) to rationalize the results of the election.
These are just peaceniks. Their biggest crimes are fighting for the environment and opposing war. |

Thousands of tweets reaching millions of people. Facebook ads linking to propaganda pieces shared millions of times. The Russians meddled in the election and they did that by depressing Democratic voting on the left by helping smear Clinton and steering them toward a seemingly viable alternative-- Stein.
IT HAPPENED. AND THE MORE YOU DENY IT THE MORE YOU APPEAR TO BE EXHIBIT A FOR THE ACTUAL SUCCESS OF THE RUSSIAN PSY-OPS CAMPAIGN. THEY ARE IN THE PROCESS OF IMPLEMENTING VERSION 2.0 TO DERAIL THE EVENTUAL DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE IN 2020.

The problem you're dealing with is the same folks who got all atwitter over Stein last time, and who were inundated with Russian agitprop, are the same people who are still inundated with Russian agitprop, so they aren't going to listen to you this time either. _________________ “We must always take sides.
