He has trade veto, a safety net option year, and plays for a title contending team in LA. He’s not going anywhere. Plus, we need big man injury insurance. |
I generally agree, but what if he were benched out of the rotation entirely?
Do you think he'd be open to a trade that would buy him out and allow him to go to a contending team that will actually play him significant minutes?
He'll never leave now, when he's the starting center for the Los Angeles Lakers, but if he is left to vegitate at the very end of the bench, I think he just might be open to going somewhere else where he could actually get minutes.
I could be wrong, but these guys want to play in games. It's a shot to their egos to get DNP-CDs. |
The way he's playing, I don’t think he’s gonna get many minutes anywhere.
Question is what happened to him? His per 36 scoring and rebounding look awful compared to last year. He's got a negative +/-. He's probably the main reason we are falling behind every game. How was he so much better last year, even with the pneumonia interruption? He even looked great in the preseason. I can’t figure out what's going on, and if he can get back to being a contributing player. |

He should play 5 min in 1st and 5 min in 3td Q. Give Dwight 28 min + 10 min with AD at C and that is it. IMO that should be our rotation at C position. |

Hit the nail on the head there. Start Jav to keep him happy, but only play him for 10-15 mins a night. That's what he should be playing on a contending team, just like he was in Golden State. Give Dwight more minutes but keep him off the bench, as it gives us some second unit firepower. AD at C for a bit of the time as well, especially if a small ball lineup is needed
Jav is needed for insurance without doubt, AD and Dwight aren't going to play 82 games each, but he can't be used too much when he's not needed if he keeps his current form up _________________ #18 next... |

I want to start Dwight and he deserves it but ... I like what we have right now with Dwight off the bench.
It’s like he knows his role and has accepted it. I worry about changing that. So yeah I agree, keep Jav in there for now though the first quarter struggles are a concern. |

This is where we are lucky to have an experienced coach. I think Luke would have just flip flopped lineups until something worked. But being down early isn't just on Javale. He's making mistakes but we had zero offensive flow to start. We need everyone to bring it against the good teams. I can see this team developing a really dangerous slow start habit. |

Some nights the matchups are better. McGee with Rondo back and Kuz would be a great 2nd unit. |

If he does this Zubac crap again please trade him for another big. No reason to play him over Howard. |

Vogel is doing a good job limiting his minutes.
Hope he improves. |

McGee looks bad because we dont have a PG to set him up.
When Rondo comes back he will be back to form |

A team's best five players don't always start.
If they did, Odom would've started over Bynum, McHale would've started over Cedric Maxwell, and Ginobli would've started over Roger Mason, Keith Bogans, and Gary Neal.
Lou Williams Montreal Harrell would also be starting for the Clips if it was all about starting your best five.

I'm ok with McGee playing a nominal few minutes to start the game, but not more than that. |

Hopefully he can back to his play from last year. Nice to have the option of limiting his minutes for now. _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Same. Hope this guys stays positive and doesn't pout when Dwight gets all the big minutes and accolades. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

JaVale needs to get some of his confidence back against Chicago.
KCP got some back against Memphis. |

McGee is in the right role... start but only get about 14 mins total.
Wish he was more impactful in those shorter mins. |

I disagree. It's fine as it is, let Howard be that guy off the bench with the 2nd unit. |

JAV is our Tiago Splitter/Nesterovic.
Token starter who plays first 6 minute shifts of the 1st/3rd Qs. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |
