I think a good chunk of Kuz's dropoff this year has to be that we're playing at a slower pace this year and not too much run n gun like we did when we had Zo. He usually got a good chunk of his points from the fast break.
I'm glad to see his shot starting to fall, but if there's something he needs to work on is taking care of the ball. He's turning it over, losing sight of where he is, and missing easy layups.
His previous one was more impressive. This one was just a bad shot that was lucky to bank in. Overall, a good game for Kuzma after a bad start. His defense continues to look serviceable to good, and he’s money from the corners.
Kuzma off the bench outplayed Melo who played 10 more mins than him starting for POR.
More efficient too in scoring and rebounds. Kuz +19 while Melo -21.
For me this is the first game all year Kuz looked like Kuz.Even his body language looked better. In previous games he looked too passive and didn't show much energy.
I agree about his defense being improved but offensively he still looks out of sorts. Passing when he should be shooting. Shooting when he should be passing. He did have a couple 3s which I think were in rhythm though.
I’m theorizing but perhaps he looks better defensively because defense is a bit more of a reactionary position whereas on offense you have to initiate and make the defense react to you. He’s gonna figure it out. He works too hard not to.

Just like to keep updating to the Kuz haters. To some of the mistake plays he makes is the game that seems to be magnified, Kuz does not hurt the team when he plays. Give him the freedom to find where he can get his shot in this offense and stop magnifying something that is not there. We know he is young, he will make mistake and not the best D player, but stat wise show he help a lot more than hurt the team.

Been defending Kuz here all season. But using +/- is not a good way to make this point.
I knew Kuzma would disappoint when people started talking about him being a 3rd option. What he is, is a guy who can get hot every 3 or 4 games. When that happens, ride it. When he's not shooting well bench him for more well rounded players. He's a role player, that doesn't have to be bad.
I can understand the people who think Kuz is one dimensional and needs to expand his game. The entire team and staff seems to be nudging him in that direction and getting him to understand that. But the people who act like he's not even a scorer are interesting. He's a legitimate weapon on offense. You don't find many players with his skillset let alone at his size. Go back and watch some of his highlights, it's just a matter of him finding his groove. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points."

There's not a lot of wings who score solely off of catch and shoots and cuts to the basket? And don't do much else?
Guy was seriously playing like he was hungover and could careless. I want him to succeed, but he was completely disengaged tonight. Wasn’t even excited when his teammates did well. Really seems like he is all about himself.
I don’t think you’re going to see much out of Kuzma if the team doesn’t run any plays for him. He excels at two main things. Scoring off of curls, and to a lesser degree, spot up jumpers.
They just need to run a handful of plays for him whenever he is on the court. They don’t run any plays at all for any of the players but I do think they should incorporate some plays for him to get him going.
Only one egregiously bad defensive play today I can remember. He tagged down on KAT and left a man wide open in the corner when a man was already tagging down low. Other than that, he was solid on D even if guys scored over him a couple of times. Still trying to find his spots on offense, but he didn’t force much and just tried to help the team.
