It was a year ago at this time that Talen Horton-Tucker showed the college basketball world what others had already suspected: That this true freshman from Chicago’s Simeon High School was destined sooner rather than later for the NBA.
The realization started even before officially joining Iowa State coach Steve Prohm’s very talented 2018 recruiting class. He solidified everyone’s educated hunch during last year’s Maui Invitational — and proved it when the Los Angeles Lakers drafted him after his one-and-only college season.
He was a project.. 2nd youngest player in the draft.. bad shot selection in college, non ready body, iffy 3pt shot.
He looked great today in the 1st half. He played with pace, played PG, bullied guys to the rim, made a half dozen nice passes(a dozen in the full game).. I was starting to worry before todays game - because I didn't like his pace, and I felt that was a reflection of his body/footspeed. But he looked like an NBA player today. His 1st Q was dominant.
i guess hes only bout 6'4?? but it dont really matter his wingspan is massive. i mean u dont block shots with the top of your head !! _________________ Kobe Forever
Looks like a longer version of Bradley. Can be a solid role player. Hopefully Lakers do what they did with Caruso. Let him develop at G League and bring him slowly and practice with our varsity player.
Check the handles out 0.0 That's something we don't have on this squad. Would like to see him get a few minutes with the second unit, see if he can spark something
His passing ability is pretty Godly as well, which would also help on the second unit
Baby Yoda vibes. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points."
