Vogel is killing us with his inability to snuff out players who are just flat out sucking in a game
Vogel gave Bradley and Rondo a combined 34 minutes who shot 0-12 total... 34 freaken minutes when we have players like Caruso who played well and only got 17 minutes!
we cant afford these coaching mistakes against better teams
Bradley at least played D.
Vogel did sit Rondo and Kuz from the late 3rd on. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns".
I loved how we trapped Tatum in the 4th. Took him out of his game.
36 tonight. That was the difference Sunday, dared the other 4 to win the game.
Geez, he was 8-12 from 3?
He's tough when he's hitting his 3s. Fortunately, it's an anomaly for him to be hitting so well. _________________ ππ π π π #18!!!
i dont understand vogel some times. he has too much faith in rondo. its as if he badly wants rondo to be the guy that he just isnt. caruso should be in the game before rondo. and more than rondo. _________________ Kobe Forever
48-13 . . . but I still hate our ""throw the ball to JaVale, who hands to LeBron on the curl, who throws a skip pass to X for a missed 3" offense.
We took 11 or 12 three pointers in the first quarter. Even though most of them were open, we don't have enough knock down shooters to take that many. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns".
wow Atkinson was just let go as head coach of Nets. Given his apparent offensive accumen, is it within the realm of possibility that at some point he's added to our coaching staff next season?

That would be interesting.
What's Kidd's task on the team? _________________ ππ π π π #18!!!

Doubtful, I would think that teams look at him as a head coach. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

It's only officially been reported that Kidd is designated as an assistant coach with a "prominent role" while also being pretty safe to assume that he's there to catch the attention of Giannis' eye.
Regardless of Kidd's role, it's pretty clear that our current offense has significant room for growth...so who says no?

Yep, I figured that as well but one could still hope he prefers to being an assistant rather than lead coach for the time being. It's no unprecedented in the NBA as we've seen it happen with other coaches including Mike Brown, Lionel Hollins, Monty Williams, etc.

Lakers should bring him on now as a consultant. You can always use another great basketball mind to help with game plans come playoff time.
Give credit to our coach who is a big part of our success this season. I like especially how he plays LBJ who is an aged player and AD who is an injury-prone. He help simplify their work: LBJ primary role as play maker and AD defines our defense. They also carry our offense collectively and individually, both not frequently. Their playing time are well managed to prevent injuries

Congrats coach!
You and the staff did a great job in helping us get the #1 seed.
Can't wait for the playoffs. _________________ ππ π π π #18!!!
Vogel deserves a lot of credit for our success. Sure he has two superstars, but the supporting cast isn't full of amazing role players. Compared to 2010 where we had Bynum, Lamar, Artest, and Fish which is always the perfect example of a strong supporting cast. Therefore we weren't really expected to finish as a top two seed. What brought us over the top was Vogel's style of play. Here are a few examples:
-Designating LeBron as primary ballhandler and surrounding him with perimeter defenders instead of other playmakers. LeBron has always with a "point guard" like Mo Williams, Chalmers, Kyrie in the starting lineup. But this is the first time he had the sole duty of playmaking and it worked wonders.
-A lockdown defense system that we haven't really seen from Lakers teams in the past
-Rotations are spot on in my opinion. Small hiccups here and there, but they are unavoidable. He does a good job staggering LeBron and AD, while subbing in pieces that fit with whoever is in the game at the moment. I'm also impressed that he managed to continue the "2 minute rest" routine for LeBron in the middle of the 2nd and 4th quarters after. I don't recall any coach doing that with a superstar player - most coaches bench their superstars only once per half and usually the rest period is for a longer period of time. Vogel's sub pattern with LeBron is a good strategy to keep his legs fresh while keeping him on the court as much as possible.
-Finally, his "horns" plays are absolutely amazing especially with our bigs. Usually leads to a lob.
A lot of praise tonight for Kuzma's game winner, but credit the coaching staff for drawing up a play like that. Here's the play's origin:
Not sure if Vogel should've saved a play like that down the stretch for the playoffs. But the good thing about it is that defenses will free up AD and LeBron a bit more now during ATO's because they know that Kuz could be a threat.

You could tell how excited Vogel was he hit that shot because there's no doubt that did nothing but help him for the future play calls. Plus you can run that same play and if the defense over pursuits Kuz next time Lebron is open underneath the basket or AD has a 10-15 foot open jumper.
What a play by Vogel. Remember when everyone here was excited that Luke was going to be our head coach? I know I was. I thought finally, weβve got someone with actual schemes, rather than ISO for Kobe. I was hyped when GT made a video on what to expect when Luke implements the Warriors system. But then reality sunk in. There were no fancy plays, no misdirections, no halftime adjustments. Just bad substitutions, no youth development, and plays only for KCP. Luke fooled everyone. Vogel on the other hand, this dude can coach. Heβs not Doc, POP, or Spols. But he doesnβt have to be. _________________ βYou have to dance beautifully in the box that you are comfortable dancing in.β - Kobe Bryant
