Should of rested AD tonight as well
Worst of both worlds. Potentially aggravate his injury and lose anyway. Tonight should have been a load management game. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

lol right. Majority of teams that repeat tend to come out sluggish. Short offseason and still getting our new guys to gel with the guys that were already here; it takes some time.
I think so. We led by 40+ points yesterday without him playing. Harrell always bring his energy. I genuinely believe we would have gone into the 4th quarter with a bigger lead and could have sneaked out a win if AD wasn't playing today. _________________ Playoffs is good enough. - Jeanie Buss 2024
No matter how you digest this, it all comes down to Gary Trent Jr hitting ridiculous 3s. I mean, we can withstand CJ and dame, but not the 3rd guy. Similar to PG went off against us in game 1. These don’t happen in the playoffs, so move on to the spurs
Just need to get better next game...Portland will always want the games against us more, because we eliminated them. I don't really care that much, and just want the team to make it to the playoffs healthy.

While there were some good spurts of defense overall it came off like trash, especially in crunch time. Open 3s. Wide open lane. Meanwhile offense was suspect down the stretch.
Of interest the +\- on lakers bench was horrific, folks with -20 or -30. Of note Gasol seemed to be much more effective in the game with their starting unit. Should he have closed?
Unfortunate waste of max minutes by lbj and AD. AD was not impactful on D tonight, not the way weve seen.
I really hope they figure out the defense...imo thats what cost the game.

nothing to blame. this games not close of Gary Trent doesn't come out of the abyss and play a career game
it's that simple
lakers will be fine. everyones just going game to game finding new people too blame
relax lulz
this is going to happen more times than this
lakers will coast some games and other teams will give everything they have for 4 quarters
have seen this with Kobe/shaq, Kobe/gasol
this is par for the course
Yea and we saw the Clippers do this last year and it didn't turn out well.
The Lakers CAN NOT afford to coast this year. I can see them load managing both AD and LeBron - but not coasting against teams like the Blazers. Not a good thing to do but it does happen.
The Lakers were sloppy tonight. After they blew their lead and the Blazers went ahead, they should have known this was going to happen.
They have to do better. _________________ Let them HATE so long as they FEAR!
AD is going to suffer in the DPOY conversation. Game tape tonight is going to make it an uphill battle.
Narratives aren't built on 4 games but he has come out of the gate a bit unfocused. Thought he'd have more of a determined approach this season. His game tonight was really strange. _________________ 14-5-3-12
Came in to read the comments, glad I wasn’t the only that felt like AD was a liability out there. But maybe this was Vogel’s way of easing him back in. It was just so frustrating to watch, especially with how good it started...
