Three Kings be stealin the gooold. I remember Billy Clinton seeing that at TWH and remarking about it positively. It's got real bits of Bill in it...so you know it's good. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL

Unforgiven is uplifting in the end. Never has a film made me want to celebrate working a regular job while raising a couple kids than in Clint's greatest movie.

Pretty good list... I would also add:
- The Great Silence (1968)
- The Big Gundown (1967)
- A Pistol For Ringo (1965)
- Day Of Anger (1967) |

I have a soft spot for both Silverado and Tombstone, both of which are well executed and beautiful films. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel |

My personal favorite. Val Kilmer deserved something for that Doc Holliday performance. _________________ KOBE |

I also think Pale Rider is criminally underrated when lists are being made. It is Eastwood’s homage to Shane via the man with no name and his necessary buildup to Unforgiven (he had the screenplay at the time). _________________ “We must always take sides. Beihn would've won the duel in reality. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL

Nvm Day of Anger was already on there. I’ll substitute it with Duck You Sucker, probably Sergio Leone’s most overlooked western. |

One of my favorite westerns. Rowdy Yates to a bad ass westerner. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Happy to see Sisters Brothers sneak in there even though I get it's taking the spot of deserving flicks like Pale Rider or Silverado. The 2010s was a weak decade for proper westerns, but Meek's and Sisters both seem like strong genre inclusions with staying power.
Ulzana's Raid and Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid would be my picks for unfortunate omission. _________________ Under New Management |

Unforgiven is so good that it's underrated, if anything. My next-favorite Western is probably Open Range. |

What are your guys thoughts on Robert Rodriguez? I actually liked Once Upon a Time in Mexico whenever I saw it (years and years ago).
But I just watched the prequel trailers El Maricahi and Desperado. And they looked too funny and ridiculous to give a try. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

Costner certainly seems to have a comfort level with the Western genre. |
