There has been a lot in this trial that is disturbing and hard to watch/listen to. This gentleman's reaction, listening to a 9 yr-old girl describe how she watched a man killed, the reaction of the store clerk when he saw what was happening, George Floyd's fear and panic and most of all, Chauvin's nonchalance. _________________ “There is always light if only we're brave enough to see it, if only we're brave enough to be it.” --Amanda Gorman |

I haven't been able to watch because I know it would be too upsetting and I have to get work done during the day. But even the commentary on Twitter about the witnesses being so upset and feeling guilty is heart wrenching. It seems they feel more angst over Floyd's death than the cop who murdered him (and the ones who stood by and did nothing). Shameful. |

Listening to the video Floyd said, I didn't do nothing. I didn't know, I didn't know! Did that mean he didn't know the bill was counterfeit? If I heard right the clerk said someone was putting Floyd in the game. He may not have known the bill was fake. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I was off today and watched parts live for the first time, including this older gentleman's testimony, rather than just the clips replayed later and reading written comments.
Video was tough to watch. The cops had a gun pointed at Floyd's face seconds after they engaged him in his car. They kept it on him even as he put his hands on his head or the wheel. Floyd was distraught from the get go. So obviously confused and scared. _________________ “There is always light if only we're brave enough to see it, if only we're brave enough to be it.” --Amanda Gorman |

The prosecution is implying George Floyd died of an overdose. An autopsy carried out by Dr. Andrew Baker, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, in June last year concluded Floyd's death was a homicide. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

What bothers me is that if you watch the body cam video of Floyd's arrest on Youtube, almost everyone who commented on the video seemed to imply that Floyd resisting and not fully complying with the cops and being high justified what officer Chauvin did to him.
These commenters also blamed the media for not releasing the body cam video and acting like it's a vast left-wing conspiracy. One even said "Yep. That'll do it. I'm Republican now."
The willful stupidity and bias of right-wing people is truly disturbing, as is their audacity to project those qualities onto left-wing people. _________________ Lakers 49ers Chargers Dodgers |

That defense attorney is just unlikeable by nature. He has a punchable face and he is patronizing and a bully no matter how much he is restraining himself (and he most likely IS during THIS trial). I think we're probably not seeing the normal courtroom style of this dude. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL

If I have it right Chauvin is charged with second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. I've listened to most of the trial. The evidence is overwhelming. If he's not found guilty on at least one of the charges it will be a huge miscarriage of justice. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

As an aside, they look like they're trying to pastel Chauvin down a little. He wears light gray or slate gray suits. Noting how attys pay attention even to appearances, that's probably not a coincidence. Light gray to make him subconsciously appear softer than he would in black, maybe. You probably wouldn't see him in a black suit with pronounced pinstripes or something too flashy or expensive, for example. I doubt they'll go as far as an off-white suit, so light gray is the furthest they can go. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL

The officer testifying in the trial, Sgt Jody Stiger, is president of LAPD Black Police Officer's Association. He said the use of force was excessive. Eric Nelson's having a difficult time with him.
It's disturbing that a police agency has to have a Black Police Officer's Association. They also have Latino, Pilipino, and Women's Associations. There may be others that I'm not aware of. They don't have a White Police Officer's Association. That screams of White Privilege. I don't know that to be the case nationwide. If I had to wager a guess, I'd guess it is. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

IMO appearance is important. The media often wrote about Johnnie Cochran's dress. To me, Eric Nelson's beard is detracting. Makes him look not lawyerly. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I missed the dress too. I do believe there was controversy of sorts when Marcia Clark wore a pantsuit and there definitely was when she got her hair curled. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

Guess you could say I'm bragging and name dropping. When Johnnie was my lawyer I went to prelim in a pantsuit, trial in a suit. Johnnie asked me where I shopped. He liked my dress.
I don't know if the DA knew Victor and I were defendants. He said to Johnnie "We don't have any evidence but we'll take them to court anyway."
They could have dropped the case at the prelim. As it stood Johnnie would make an additional $400 if we went to trial.
We went to the old county on Spring St. After reading the transcripts the judge said he thought we were guilty. Johnnie said thank you, retrieved the transcripts, and went to the new courthouse on Hill.
That judge said he thought we were guilty but would go along with the DA's recommendation. Your lawyer's relationship with the DA is important. Johnnie used to be a DDA. I'm sure that held some weight. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

So exactly what type of dress? Full length poofy styles? Poofy?
Or mid length Sun Dress? Sun Dress?

Burgundy pantsuit with a checkerboard beige and burgundy top, off gray vested 3 button suit, Stacy Adams shoe boots, Floorshime thin soled shoes. When I was young I dressed to impress. The judge gave Johnnie a slip indicating that his dress was improper. Johnnie said, "A piece of paper would've done just nicely." _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL
