My issue is we never addressed the lack of shooting. I was all in to get rid of Montrez at the trade deadline while everybody was whining about keeping him and they love his "energy" or even trade Schroder since he won't sign long term. Plus Schroder can't shoot worth crap, and he takes so long to shoot the ball. It was confusing as to why Rob stood pat at the trade deadline.
For the record, no I didn't want Lowry.
Now we have a log jam at C and PF. We got unhappy players, when they are unhappy they won't fully buy in and will go out and get theirs regardless of the outcome of the game. THIS IS THE PROBLEM...

Breaking up a championship squad, is really idiotic. If we don't win the championship this year, Rob needs to be in question. No GM, President of basketball ops has ever broke up a championship squad, after their 1st year of winning 1. |
Y’all would be sending death threats to Danny Green, complaining about Rondo being injured all the time. And when LBJ/AD went out we’d be faring even worse. No championship team had massive injuries to their unquestioned superstars like this. Imagine no Michael/Scottie. Or kobe/shaq. That’s what happened to this team. Not the ancillary pieces. |
Even before the injuries we looked crap. We lost to so many bad teams. |

The truth is AD is a shadow of himself....if he continues to play like this we’re done....if he somehow finds a way to play like he did last year then we can do it. He went from a top 5 player in the league....to looking like Lamarcus Aldridge. |

That’s 1A for sure.
1B is no one is scared of this team anymore despite that defensive rating. This year’s team is capable of getting stops, but they give up a ton of 2nd chance points and too many extra possessions.
This season’s team has developed a reputation of blowing big leads and the opponents know just stay within striking distance. Last season’s team had to grind out more wins, but they were a (bleep) to close games. |

The defense is consistently out of position in the last four games. We let guards have too much freedom and they easily picking apart for layups, lobs, or swing passes for threes. Vogel needs to limit the over helping and just stick to man to man defense and switch everything. |

Look how healthy we were last year. Especially AD/LBJ. Remember we were still 1-2 in the West with these guys before injuries derailed us.
I still believe no one wants to play us in the playoffs. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Would be nice, but nobody on the team really has that in them.
That's kind of why Rondo was here last year, because LeBron and AD go through spurts where they like to coast and not be engaged, and Rondo would tear into them for it without a care and it'd get them back on track. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Yinoma: You keep repeating the same thing, and you are wrong. As others have already said, even BEFORE the injuries to AD and LBJ, this team SUCKED! We had a SOFT schedule, we barely beat BAD teams and we lost to the few GOOD teams during that soft schedule.
So please, stop saying this team was good BEFORE the injuries. It was NOT. |

We were better last year than this year and breaking up a championship squad after the 1st title is unheard of. That is the point. |

Good news is no other team seems to have “it”. Except maybe Philly? But yeah I’m not losing sleep over the 76ers. |

This. We were just champions on paper. Its 2013 all over again. As soon as we play our last game this year, if it’s not winning it all, this team will be completely blown up. _________________ "I bought the Lakers so I could beat the Celtics" - Dr. Jerry Buss |

In hindsight, i have to agree. I drank the Kool Aid thinking adding the 6th man of the year and all these others would make us better. Almost every expert thought the same thing. It didn’t work - breaking up a championship team never does. _________________ "I bought the Lakers so I could beat the Celtics" - Dr. Jerry Buss |

And before his injury? He looked so bad. Dude can't even rebound anymore, settle for jumpers all day and even his defense isn't elite level these past few games. |

Nah. We were healthier. Look up how many games AD/LBJ played last year compared to this year. The ancillary pieces were ancillary. This team is always about AD/LBJ and when they both missed close to 1/3rd of the season thats that. Our role players would be worse last year without LBJ/AD for 1/3rd of the season. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Before the diagnosis? He had undiagnosed Achilles tendinitis lol. Let’s all of us hope he’s back to his old self now and shaking off the rust |

People putting too much stock into the regular season during this COVID year and short turnaround. We got hit with major injuries. Now we are all back. Let’s see where this team goes instead of crying about last year’s team or constantly saying the sky is falling.
I guarantee you no team wants the Lakers in the playoffs. LBJ/AD showed everyone of what they are capable of when it’s the playoffs and every game starts mattering. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |
