I personally like this selection. The Chargers just need a guide on the side since they have so much talent. Norv never really worked with so much talent EVER.

I believe he can finally guide the Chargers to the Super Bowl next season. And if worst comes to worst...at least Philip Rivers will be a superstar quarterback under Turner.

Hopefully him and a good defensive coach will keep this 14-2 team on track for next year. Without the post-season Marty ball.

Norv seems like a guy built to be an offensive coach and not a head coach. Seems like a genius with the X's and O's, and a good guy to coach a QB or a small group of players.

I just don't feel like he's quite the leader to galvanize an entire team and command the respect that it takes to get every single guy to give their all for him.

Not that Schottenheimer ever won a Superbowl, but going from Marty to Norv Turner is a real downgrade.

I am no Chargers fan, but I think they could have done better

He was hired because he was the easiest coach for AJ Smith to control.

^ Basically. Kind of like Pete Carroll hiring Lane Kiffin and Sarkisian.
