Yes.

Russell definitely is unless you count Lebron as a point guard/forward.

Honorable Mentions:

Nick Van Exel

Sedale Threatt

Ramon Sessions, Lonzo Ball, Jeremy Lin, Chucky Atkins , and Kendall Marshall...............
Obviously Kidding for the last 5

I came here excited to read all the positive hype after getting Westbrook, but was shocked then bemused by the negativity. People are acting like we traded either Bron or AD for Westbrook. We just brought a 32 yo MVP superstar to the team who averaged a triple double last season for garbagey garbage. We gave nothing back of value.

I love Westbrook so much. I know his shooting is (bleep) but the Lakers haven’t had a player with his mentality since Kobe. I love love love this guy. Pure fight and fury. Let’s go BABY!!!!!

#18 coming our way

Goals for Russell:

1. Secretary of Defense. Become the head of the defensive beast we are creating with this move. Make at least the 2nd team all defense. And, of course, be prudent with his shot selection which will help to mitigate the lack of a true shooter's touch.

He, as the defensive head, LeBron as the center fielder, and AD as the safety, should finish top three in defense. Now, RP, may we please have some shooters with a reasonable degree of defensive ability too, please? LOL

Beal. Going on 10 years in the league

“We have a guy who pushes us every night. Russ pushes me. He pushes everybody to be ready to go,” Beal said. “And I think that’s something I’ve definitely channeled this year, just making sure that I’m ready to compete on a nightly basis.”

Still remembered how giddy the announcers was when Session had a breakaway dunk in his first game ‘haven’t seen this type of athleticism in our point guard before’

Bro it’s DLO BI RANDLE LONZO CLARKSON and THE KUZ … we would be going for a 3-peat right now.

Hilarious…..that made me laugh. Even my boys got a kick out of that…
Gotta love bringing back the youth.
Sorry, wrong, those guys wouldn’t have gotten past the first round of the playoffs.

He, BI, Lonzo & Hart had Zion and didn't make the playin!

The reality is, we were a pretty good team this year with Schroder as our starting PG (bar injuries). Westbrook is literally an upgraded Schroder in so many ways

In regards to who we've lost, the only one of great importance is KCP (who I hope we'll be able to replace). Trezz was not in our playoff rotation, and Kuz's impact - specifically for how the Lakers are structured - can be replaced with a vet min guy (although I think he'll average similar to his 18-19 numbers if he stays with the Wizards)

It's hard to say that Westbrook, IF we put the right pieces around him, won't be a valuable piece. Is he a gamble? Absolutely. Could it pay off big-time? Also absolutely

I believed it can work if we can fit the right pieces around them. If we can get someone like Batum for mini MLE, that will be a no brainer. And add a situational shooter like Reddick who willing to take vet minimum then it will give us better balance

Death Line Up

Westbrook
Caruso
Batum
Lebron
AD

Possible Starter

Westbrook
Reddick
Lebron
AD
Gasol

Bench

THT
Caruso
Batum
Melo
Matthews
Kief
Dwight
McLemore
McKinney

If we can somehow execute a sign and trade for Schroder or at least get a trade exception then we can probably get a player that will definitely be in our playoff rotation.

I am just hoping THT can take a leap with his 3 ball enough to keep teams honest and not cheat on him and somehow Westbrook making teams pay with his 3 ball.

I don't mind load management, but look what happened to the king of load management, Kawhi. There was a lot of load management around the league, and there ended up being more injured stars than ever. The Nets tried it, we see what happened to them. AD sat out half the season, look what happened to him. I'm not so sure load management does any good, it's possible players are more likely to get hurt if they're not in proper shape and rhythm from playing regularly.

The compact season caused the injury's and because coaches in this league don't load manage enough. The are so focused on winning as many possible games, they lose sight on the real prize of the regular season and that's being injury free for the playoffs.

(If it was up to me all of our players would sit 25% of season especially our stars)

Here's the best LG can offer for why this trade makes sense.

-Russ plays hard
-Give Lebron rest

Playing hard is like averaging a triple double... it only matters if it's valuable. Lebron has been in-game load managing since the 2013-14 season, his last in Miami. This is validated by his average velocity (which the NBA weirdly measures) and his defensive metrics.

Not saying I hate the trade, just expected more incisive justifications.

I thought Rus was a poor free throw shooter, but for his career he is 79%. #solid.

The worry is that 2 out of the last 3 years he shot under 70%.
Hopefully this year he can bring it back over 80%.
We need a healthy Westbrook.

Russ is a monster on the boards and has the highest pace rating in the NBA. He is a great quarterback in transition, also he's still one of the most athletic and fast point guards ever.

We are going to be difficult to stop in transition and we're going to get more opportunities to initiate it. That's something we've been missing.

Russell Westbrook's playmaking stat percentiles, per

Getting to the rim rating: 99th
Box creation: 99th
High-value assists: 99th

@Tim_NBA

The Lakers added an elite playmaker in Westbrook.

Well, the Lakers added perhaps the worst Perimeter Shooting elite playmaker in the league in Westbrook.

The playmaking boost is real. How they mitigate the shooting impact will be key for the overall impact to stay strong.

Well, now we have a GREAT playmaker besides Bron.

But the man can't shoot for save his life.

You guys keep talking about perimeter shooting, but it’s on the other team to keep him out of the paint and make him a jump shooter. In the last game against us, 7 shots in the paint, 6 shots at 15 feet, and only 3 shots behind the arc. We couldn’t do it and got blown out.

Bradley Beal just had the best season of his career with Westbrook
Paul George had his best season of his career with Westbrook
Kevin Durant had the only MVP season of his career with Westbrook

Too good to be true. Russ is selfish. Also Russ isn't a playmaker just a stat padder.

Things I've heard the past 2 days
