Attending a Zoom meeting with the Lakers game on - good times!
Don't forget to pull your pants on before standing up.
Damn! Did it again. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns".
Cacock should have dominated those guys. I think his Lakers days are over. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns".
Liked what I saw from Reaves, REALLY like what I saw from McClung, Ayayi played alright. Tres Tinkle has potential and the power forward with the kid n play haircut.
Robinson reminds me of Marcus smart 🤓 .. mostly his build. But his defense seemed good.
Ayayi didn't look ready. But they weren't really running anything for him.
Reaves looked the best. He's got that old man game from the gym. Showed smarts. I wish he hit that game winner 😂 _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!!
Its only a summer league game and it doesn't mean much, but I liked what I saw from McClung. He has heart. Keep in mind that prior to tonight I knew absolutely nothing about him lol.
Reeves could have a role. He has a good stroke. The last second shot was straight as an arrow and just long. Agree on Cacok. Not going to see any time in LA. Team shot less than 60 percent from the line. They play the Kings tomorrow night. Looking for more from this group.
They both had some nice ones. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns".
There is a noticeable difference when a true PG (Robinson) runs the offense. His probing of the defense creates better shots for his teammates and he handled defensive pressure without much issue unlike Reaves who struggled. Similar in size and physical profile to Jalen Brunson but needs 3pt consistency to have a chance at making the league than just the few games he has played the past 2 seasons.
Reaves needs to tighten his handles and his body. Has very little muscle tone which supports his 11% body fat measured at the combine. Otherwise he looked like he belongs in the league.
Childs is lot more agile with better mobility than I anticipated for a wide body. Also significantly more skilled than Cacok on the offensive end. Long shot as a small ball 5 but he has a chance.
Queen was the best defensive player for the Lakers. Moves well laterally and is able to stay in front of his opponent. Very active and a good athlete.
I would like to see more urgency in Ayayi. Primarily played off ball and had a meh game.
Thought Cacok could possibly replace Harrell's position but not sure now. Better options like Childs are available.
Tinkle is too limited athletically. Hustles but unable to execute against more athletic defenders. Had trouble getting his shot both on the perimeter and in the paint.
Yurtseven (Heat) should make the league. I actually mentioned signing him for the Lakers last season as a 2way but Miami signed him late in the season. Showed a lot more diverse offensive game vs. his Georgetown play but his significant height and length advantage over Cacok helped inflate his numbers. Heat also ran plays for him to take advantage of this mismatch.
None of these guys are really going to stick, right? Expect for the 2 two-ways signed who will be relegated to the SB team.
Mcclung was kind of nice. He has a flare to his game in his passing and on defense he has his hands on the ball every possession it seems, his hustle is fun to watch.

With the Lakers scouting department, you never know. They tend to find the most diamond in the rough talent I've seen for an organization. For them to stick, they'll have to impress in SL, then training camp and then preseason, which is when the cuts or 2-way contracts are typically made. If someone does make it to the team, they'd have to be really good and comparable to the talent that we currently have on the team. Even then, it's very unlikely that they'd see time on the regular season roster -- it would be mainly g-league.
The expectations are much different than from 4 years ago. Lakers are trying to win a ring, and THT & Monk are the only shoe-in young talents at the moment.
Liked a lot of what I saw defensively from McClung, he could be a real hustle, defense and pest guy with some athleticism to boot it. Always need guys like that on a team.
Reaves needs to add some muscle and tighten up his handle but his basketball IQ and knowledge to know where to be either off-ball or on the defensive end are valuable commodities and I can definitely see him utilized as an off-ball shooting threat while he works on the muscle/handles.
Ayayi didn't play too urgently but I can see the potential.
Robinson for all that was said about his ability as a PG played horribly. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:
