If he can keep that up, I doubt we keep him in South Bay. The guy is very smooth and high iq.
That's why I think they moved him to a full contract so he's not limited to time he can spend with all the vets. The knowledge he gets on the bench and in practices all year will be invaluable. He's got way better instincts and iq on the defensive end then I expected for sure.

He's not a 2 way contract anymore. He's on a standard contract now.
I'm very happy now that he's on a standard contract. Somebody at 14 on the roster often sees nothing but South Bay or street clothes much of the season, at first I thought his signing was nice but not very relevant. I had mentally placed him just above camp fodder territory. Now that I've seen this guy play I agree with mad's take - I'd love to see HBK crack the rotation in a Laker jersey and not just a South Bay jersey if he scraps and plays smart like we've seen so far.

Austin Reaves position is point. A natural floor general. I hope they don't try to force him into being a shooting guard; like they are trying to force THT to be a shooting guard.
I've said it before, he's the type of player that has value around other good players because he plays smart and has a variety of skills. There isn't a particular skill that's elite enough for him to be the main guy per se. But that's ok. I'm hoping he can be a good to great role player.

Agree, smart kid, hope Lakers can develop him ... _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team !
Can’t wait for Caruso to assert his male dominance and dunk all over this dude! _________________ “You have to dance beautifully in the box that you are comfortable dancing in.” - Kobe Bryant
I totally know this is flame worthy material and is waaaaay too early, but I'm kind of hoping Reaves can (eventually) become a poor man's Manu for us. He's not the same level of athlete but I kind of see a little resemblance in parts of his game. _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night.

Reading "a rich Luke Walton" made me think of oozing morning diarrhea ..

Spoken like a true x-Lakers fan....
Spoken like a true bait taker.
why are you "baiting" folks?
It’s preseason and I’m bored. 😝
Plus Lebron and AD will ride the rook behind closed doors for not being Caruso, so I figured I do the same. Imagine what Kobe would have said in the locker room to “Hillbilly Mamba”? 😝 _________________ “You have to dance beautifully in the box that you are comfortable dancing in.” - Kobe Bryant
Not that it truly matters as I think Nunn is secure as backup 1. But he needs to step it up as well. Good to see Reaves do this kind of stuff as a rookie though. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

This kid, so far, not only doesn’t get destroyed on defense, actually looking good, give him 2-3 yrs
LeBron on Austin Reaves, who went from a two-way deal to bigger minutes due to injuries: “He’s an NBA player. He can play at this level. I watched a lot of film on him when we (signed) him. His size … shot making ability …passing … High IQ kid, and he has a lot of dog in him.”
