Not gonna lie, defense has me pretty worried. They just don’t look like they are capable of performing on that end.
Suns will shred the Lakers on Friday if Vogel doesn’t get creative with schemes and plan. They will put up 130 easy imo. |

Im sorry but how is the melo we have now better than kuzma? Kuzma wasn’t the best but atleast he was younger lol

I think Rob does a good job signing players, but he doesn't seem to have a vision for this Lakers team.
Melo is a pure example of a volume shooter. He doesn't pass, rebound, or defend. When the ball comes to him, he's gonna shoot it. Period. He's the sort of player you put in when the team collectively isn't shooting well. Because he will shoot the ball come hell or high water and a portion of his shots will fall and everyone will feel good. It just needs to be clearly understood that once the ball gets to Melo, he will shoot it. Nothing else, nothing more. And his accuracy won't be great. Therein lies the problem.
Now, how that fits in with what we actually need for this team, I don't know.
But Rob got him, so I guess Vogel has to figure it out. |

He is always chasing names. He has no idea on the fit. he has no magic wand to sign these players. They come here because of the brand. |

I think if we lost the way we did last night, but AD looked as bad as he did in the preseason, it would be a lot more worrisome.
Westbrook simply needs to learn how to operate without the ball. A couple times they posted him up and got him the ball, and we got good results. I'd like to see him cut to the basket more and maybe work off weak side picks and get the ball while on the move.
Remember during the championship season we lost on opening night to the Clippers, and we looked old and slow. Then right after that we took off. At least our pace was good last night and we had 20 fast break points while shooting a decent % from downtown. Also remember that Kendrick Nunn and THT were out. |

He is always chasing names. He has no idea on the fit. he has no magic wand to sign these players. They come here because of the brand. | Names and stats. Chemistry that was once perfect, is way out of balance and that ship has sailed. Nothing left to do but keep tinkering. To be sure, everything he’s doing is with Lebron’s blessing and probably urging, with the exception of letting Dudley go. |

Review Buddy Hield vs Russell Westbrooks 1st game of the season... and honestly admit that Pelinka absolutely blew the most consequential offseason move for the second year in a row. _________________ A three headed monster... Jeannie, Pelinka, and Ham... another terrible season.

Outside of the Westbrook fiasco... the defense was putrid.
If I had to list the two areas that, if we don't improve, our chances for another Championship drops drastically: Russell Westbrook and Defense. _________________ A three headed monster... Jeannie, Pelinka, and Ham... another terrible season. |

I admit nothing because you shouldn’t be basing your opinions on game one of a season makes you look like an idiot |

for sure it's time to panic... after 1 game out of 82, it's definitely over. _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. Melo is turrible. We aint going far if hes getting this many minutes and the greenlight to do whatever. Hopefully his minutes shrink (DNP?) when we get back some players. |

Some players just cant play defense. People like Kuz who go from bad defender to good are the exception not the norm. Unfortunately we have a metric ton of terrible defenders getting major minutes on this team. |

I thought our D was solid to start, but the refs took us out of it.
But on O, that’s us. We are just settling for one pass, one iso. Not too much ball movement. The chemistry on offense is really far off. |

At least we're only down 29. I thought we'd be down by 40 or more by now |

True that pre-season is not always a barometer of how your team is going to perform, but if you watched this team it was a complete mess from top to bottom. Really poor construction and balance of players. Shooters that are not that good and play poor defense, along with too many ball handlers and some like in the case of Westbrook who specialize in only one category. I see this mess drowning the Lakers for a long time, they have nowhere to go. Just wait till LBJ retires and let this be the Westbrook AD show? |
