Lakers need wings (good luck with that)…any other trades is a waste of time.
Maybe some day the Lakers will catch up to the modern game. |

i think mitch got his job at least partially based on both he and MJ being legendary tar heels.
mitch got a lot of crap towards the end of his tenure with the lakers. i attribute much of that to following jim buss's orders. and well, mitch is a really brainy basketball nerd, but probably has the impact of a wet sponge in pitches. good thing the hornets have MJ for the razzle dazzle

Considering how consistently bad the Hornets have been, if they'd just make the ECF, Jeanie should fire herself. |
The decision to get rid of Mitch and Jim has been talked to death. Mitch and Jim got caught up in Buss family politics, but they hadn't exactly been displayed brilliance in their decisions. It's a fair criticism that Jeanie hasn't brought in experienced personnel to replace them, but that's been talked to death, too.
Laker's Fan makes a fair point that Mitch is probably better suited for a smaller market where he doesn't have to deal with all of the tomfoolery. In a lot of ways, the job as GM of the Lakers is what the Brits call "a poisoned chalice." It's a prestigious, high-profile job, but you will constantly be criticized if the team isn't winning titles. If something had gone wrong and we hadn't won the bubble title, Pelinka would be getting attacked far worse than he is now, and he might have been fired. As it stands, the goodwill from the bubble title is wearing off fairly quickly. |

Well we got the “swag” but brick fest, non-defense playing team. Who needs shooting when you can showboat about a .500 record against the bottom of the league
Celtics are a wing heavy team and I think Brown is back…so yeah good luck with that. Might be another ass whipping with no one guarding Tatum or Brown.
Nvm, just saw Brown is not back yet. lakers fortunate, although that didn’t prevent a beatdown in the last meeting without Brown so… |

Quote: | Damian Lillard wants a 2-year, $107M extension this offseason, via @wojespn.
The Blazers would be paying him $55M at 36-years-old. 👀 |
Doesn’t sound like a guy all too worried about getting a chip tbh.
Also, this is true re: Myles Turner

I can respect that. Think of it as a "loyalty" premium. Isn't that what the L word really means in pro sports? _________________ Internet Argument Resolved |

POR would be stupid to give Dame that extension.
Both parties need to move on. They're not winning anything as currently constructed with Dame anyways. Plus he's already showing signs of slowing down.
They're better off trading him and doing a complete rebuild. _________________ The butter's hard and the eggs are chillin' in the dark.

Jeremy Lamb is making 10M we would need to send out THT and that would be a short sighted move. |

Lakers need to play better in order to turn their players into assets. It'll be interesting to see how other teams view the Lakers "assets". |

Kind of like Riley foresaw an NBA team of all 6-8 guys, Rob envisions an entire roster of undersized guards that can't defend and shoot 35% from 3. |

The sad thing is that we actually had assets, but traded 4 of them away for a player most knew was exactly the wrong fit for the team, then simply let 2 walk away for nothing. We lost 6 actual assets and all we have to show for it is RW. _________________ "Rangers lead the way!"

The Lakers have been underrating their own assets for years. How do we get anything close to asset maximization when our own dunce of GM doesn't know what his assets are (or can be) worth? |

It becomes funnier every year that Rob couldn't smoke this guy in a trade. He gave him everything he wanted. |

Luke/Brian Cook/Sasha/2nd rounders should be enough to get a deal done!
Sorry for a second i thought i was in 2008 again wondering what good players we could get for our package of crappy nothing. |

Well, now that we have no assets left other than THT, maybe Pelinka could sucker someone more gullible than him into giving him decent defensive players. Maybe. |

Realistic speaking what would you guys give up for Sabonis or Turner? Westbrook likely needs to be involved. |

Major PIPE I know... BUT...
Westbrook & THT for Sabonis & LeVert 100% works on NBA Trade Machine.
PG: BRON
SG: MONK
SF: LEVERT
PF: DAVIS
C: SABONIS
Nunn, Bradley, Melo, Ariza bench. Great 9 man playoff rotation!
Passes the pipe..... |

Lakers could have had Lowry and DeRozan as their starting backcourt but instead chose Russ and THT. _________________ Everyting negative - pressure, challenges - is all an opportunity for me to rise.

I definitely like that better then Simmons, I don’t want Lillard anymore as I have a strong feeling he is gonna show his decline soon. |

How do you sign/resign Lowry and S&T for DeRozan while staying under the hard cap? How do you keep Lowry from going to the Heat?
Plus, don't forget that LA is planning around the repeater tax. The capspike from the New TV deal gives them one of the two years they need. The other prohibits 3+ year deals. There are way more layers to this stuff. |

Regardless of what people say about Simmons I think he is a hell of a player.
If he gets paired up with Lillard they will be rock solid...
That's what he needs a place where his guards can shoot lights out and he can play the draymond role |
