After living in SF for the last 10+ years or so, I’m glad I got out of there last year. Everything in this video is 100% accurate and what I saw almost every day. _________________ Billions Billions Billions
For people who have been there recently is it contained to certain streets? Similar to LA, where if you know what blocks to stay off, the streets are okay downtown? I have heard from some people who visit SF that it wasn’t that bad and others that say it’s a Warzone.

My cousin lives in Pleasanton about 45 minutes from Frisco. She said there is poop on the streets, and people lying on the corridor from the BART shooting up, smash and grab is common. She said it's scary. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.

war zone is probably the wrong word. I am up there frequently. Cesspool is probably a better term. For those that live up there or have been a visitor seemingly forever, it started to go down hill when the tech industry started to load up. You can see in real time that Brown/gavin had zero plan for affordable housing which combined with the lack of drug policy made it what it is.

The high end parts are still in decent shape - Presidio Heights, Marina District Nob Hill, nice parts of Sunset and upper Pac Heights. But go to the financial district, Embarcadero area, etc and it is bad.
The media has overblown the extent of this. The areas that used to be good that have really gone down are the financial district up Market and all the way to the Embarcadero.

Having living there the past couple of years this is pretty accurate from what I’ve seen. I also feel like there’s part you know where to stay away from like the Tenderloin District or certain parts of Mission.
Maybe because I was born and raised in La it wasn’t a huge difference to me than many parts of La but I hate how SF gets viewed in the media. It’s a beautiful city with great people and community.

Same. I moved from So Cal to the City and despite my hatred for their teams, love SF itself. I am back in So Cal but SF is a great town that is getting a bad rap. It is still a top 5 OECD city. It isn't going anywhere.

I still like it because of the friends and family up there but it is a far cry from being an emerald city it once was.
This is an example of what happens when gentrification and income/wealth inequality aren't kept in check. You force working class people, including small business owners, to move to the bad neighborhoods, and it gets to the point where you only have either rich neighborhoods or neighborhoods that are a sh!t show, similar to Compton or the South Bronx.
Some of the people in the tech industry are really self-entitled and out of touch, and it isn't just people like Elon Musk or Mark Zuckerberg.
Some neighborhoods need to be off limits to gentrifying yuppie real estate developers. It's bad enough in Santa Monica and Venice where I'm from, but it's gotten past that point the last 10 years with the advent of what they call "Silicon Beach." _________________ Lakers 49ers Chargers Dodgers

Totally agree.
SF has always had issues due to being a "bohemian" type city.
Things are certainly bad now in certain parts of the city but it is far from a lost cause.
SF is special and always will be, just needs more hands on leadership to clean up the worst parts. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny

Here is an article from Daily Kos. I have not verified the data, but it is sourced (for Republicans, especially the Maga ilk, this does not mean Reddit, but means using a non partisan agency). The headline says it all:
Murder, shootings, drugs, shoplifting – CONSERVATIVE areas are driving California’s troubles
