What if it’s not for KCP? Is that possible?

We would have to trade Beasley, Lance, Zu, and another player that makes at least 500k or more.

I would say that the fact that the Lakers are even considering trading KCP is a strong vote of confidence in Hart. After such a trade, Hart should be getting more playing time.

We could just do Rondo + Lance or Beas

Do it. This means FO thinks we have a chance to go all the way, even this season. Ariza’s role is one thing, D up the best opponent wing, KD, Harden, PG13. It kinda makes BI a lil more expendable in a separate trade (I own his Jersey, hope not)

In theory, couldn’t it be a package involving a young core player? It’s doubtful, but trying to think of what a realistic non-KCP deal might look lke.

Lakers won’t be done making moves once we get Ariza, My hunch is that the Lakers have another deal lined up for Dec 15 or perhaps the TD.

So 3 thoughts immediately come to mind:

1. They are trying to get Ariza before the Rockets.
2. You can never have enough good defensive wings. Changes the game.
3. Whenever something like this gets leaked, I’m skeptical of it actually going through. Someone just wanted this leaked...

If Phoenix can find a trade for Ariza with expiring and some asset coming back, then they will take that instead of waiting past the trade deadline to do a buyout and not getting any asset at all.

I would agree with 3 but the fact that woj says it can’t be done by Dec 15 makes me think that it’s already agreed upon in principle.

Luke went to Phil and told him Trevor should keep his starter job back in the day.

Fultz is a ball handling guard in need of a change of scenery. Philly would like to clear their books of his salary next year. Simmons is a Klutch client.

Feel like 1 is the most likely from that list. i feel like they don't want him to enter the buyout market. Too many teams have the room exception to offer him. The difference in salary might not matter too much mid way through the season tho.

My thoughts, Ariza brings more than KCP. KCP is spotty and not a good defender in fact, he's a lazy lazy defender.
I like the idea of Ariza. Another vet with the young guys. I am ok with that.

In theory yes the salaries would work if you include Ingram or Ball. Obviously that is never happening. If it isn't KCP then I am guessing the only other realistic trade is involving Rondo. I would not do that. I want Rondo on this team in the playoffs.

Yes you can try adding a bunch of players together to make it work, but then you are sending 4 or 5 players for 1 and it gets unrealistic.

Suns also save 3 million dollars with an Ariza for KCP swap.

I think Ariza would bring versatility and consistency where KCP has more potential to go off and make a big impact on a given night but disappear on others. I think this team needs a bit more of the former.

I’d rather have Booker than Ayton. He would give LeBron more help to win now.

Now IDEALLY, I would love it if a deal was sending just Lance, Beasley, Zu and a filler like Caruso to acquire Ariza. We would get rid of a lot of fat for a big impactful player while also leaving us room to bring up other more useful players like Travis Wear again, etc.

That would actually be pretty amazing.

But then one of either McGee or Chandler has to go to make playing time room for Ayton.
