It was nice to log on with no problems. Usually towards the end of the game it gets unbleivably slow or you can't log in at all.
Money well spent.
Nice job DB and Co. _________________ "It's just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I beat people up."-The Greatest |

Like when the Gasol trade went down? Those were good times...I was so happy that I didn't care about LG being slow for days |

right, because it was one thing if you couldn't log on during/after a game. it was another thing if the server went down mid-day. I don't know how many times I went to espn.com to see if anything big happened because I couldn't log on LG

Both old & new are Linux. |
Awesome. If you ever need any Linux/Unix admin help with anything, let me know. I'd be glad to help.

No, we aren't using the old server. There was some talk of possibly using one server for the database, but we don't need to do that. |

One of my first goals in taking over the site was to get us on a new server. What I didn't know was that LGers would step up big time with the fundraising drive to give us the upgrade we so badly needed.
Props to all our donors for their contributions that allowed us to do this.
And a to our guys who helped get the server set up and live. There's always work to be done and tweaks to be made, but this is a big upgrade for us...and it comes at a very interesting time in Laker land.
Enjoy the new server and thanks again to all of you who stepped up for the LG community. |
im curious where is LG HQ located? |

I think this is the summary of the answer from last time you asked:
LakersGround is located in a secret bunker 300 feet below ground in the same mysterious island that the survivors of Oceanic flight 815 "crashed" on. Inside that bunker, the server and mods are surounded by a barrier of shark-infested water. (Yes, these sharks have friggin laser beams and Samuel L. Jackson is down here, too.) When Mike -at- LG is in the bunker he doesn't know how to turn on the lights because the switch is on the other side of the shark-infested waters. I've told him that's what the swimming monkeys are for, but he doesn't seem to get it. Occasionally, we make Pokoy go for the lights when were out of swimming monkeys. |
