I can't believe it. Phil, you will be sorely missed, and I hope you're keeping me a seat open next to you and Chick up there. May you RIP and be the Lakers' guardian angel this season. |

I have always had a special distaste for stickies so I normally pass right over them. Sadly, I am only reading this thread now.
This is a great loss to us all. Many of us spend a lot of time here and think highly of the people we interact with here for their insight in things relating to the Lakers and otherwise. Phil had a huge hand in raising the level of intelligence and respect here. For that I am very grateful.
Very best wishes to Phil and his family.
And if his family ever reads this, please know that even if a person's commitment to his favorite team seems silly at times (at least in terms of the time a person invests in following the team), it provides a sort of refuge from the grind of our lives. Phil helped people here with his special commitment to this team and this site. He helped give people an outlet to let off some steam. He made people's lives easier to a certain degree. That's something to be proud of because he had an impact. _________________ You are under no obligation to remain the same person you were a year ago, a month ago, or even a day ago. I stopped posting on lakers boards before the death of LT... but there are a few people I remember fondly. Phil was one of them. He supported me in my personal life during some rough times, as well as in the good ones. He was a damn good friend, and I will miss him greatly.
Say hi to chick for us Phil. |

Well he should drop by the anniversary edition. It's hard work entertaining you knuckleheads, and I could use the help. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel |

Do nlbford, butcher and everyone else from LT know about this?
RIP, you will most definitely be missed. |
I do now. I had a nice PM exchange with Phil a couple of weeks ago.
I'm going to drop FS and butcher an email in case they haven't heard. |
Damn, it's good seeing most of the lt gang around here again.
Dajadeed. |
DEEDS! Good to see you.
It's cool to see old friends connecting. Obviously Phil is still doing his great work. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

It is really nice to see butcher, Fatsam, Dajadeed and nlbford on here although it is under bad circumstances. Lakerstalk really was a special place and the only website that I wish was still that isn't!
RIP Phil

I just listened to flo'z tribute song. It was beautiful and I'm not ashamed to say I kinda teared up.
Thanks flo'z. _________________ "Kobe, Kobe, Kobe and some more Kobe, with a sprinkling of Kobe and a huge fat scoop of double Kobe with Kobe sprinkles and Kobe sauce"

I've met Phil a few times at those LakersTalk BBQ games they use to have. A great guy & knowledgeable Lakers fan.
He will be missed. RIP
I see jlkr42, Dak, CMB, FatSam, myself & Phil. Good times.
Great to see some of the old gang back here. I miss those meetings & the site itself. |

We've arranged for Phil's name to be permanently logged in as suggested by some as a tribute. |
