Hey guys, I decided to start the game thread early (I hope you guys are okay with that) as this is a huge game.
This is a huge statement game as not only do Lakers need to prove something to themselves but they need to show the rest of the league that they are still a force in the league after two losses in a row. Three straight losses would hurt and a win would even things with Cleveland and Orlando for the best record.
I hope Kobe comes out guarding LeBrick like how he was guarding Wade and plays excellent ball denial again. We also need Pau and Bynum to step up!

HUGE EFFIN GAME! Kudos to you on the early thread start!
Yeah, LeBronze will take a back seat. This mofo is seriously over rated.
That's right, I said it OVER rated! He's Karl Malone as a perimeter player. Not Magic, not Jordan. Karl Malone.
Keep the game close, then High pick with Kobe and Gasol. If you look, we usually lose to the cavs because we butcher plays down the stretch. poor exeuction down the stretch of ball games. _________________
LeBron is definitely OVERHYPED! He is a great player but im sick of how much attention he gets from the media and the number of calls he gets every single game.
I don't wanna imagine the LeBron love fest that is gonna happen if we lose on Monday.
This is one of the biggest games especially coming off a 2 loss streak. They still have another tough back to back games in February also with the Cavs and Celtics in their home court. For me, I'm just real anxious to see our injured guys out there again going full speed.
They don't have the 3-shooter to kill the Lakers. And Cavs are also susceptible to PG penetration.
I think it depends on the pace of the game. If they try to play Nelly ball again, the Cavs will win pretty easily. And I mean, the Lakers may lose by 20 if they try to out jumpshoot the Cavs. High pace will give Lebron HUGE lanes to the basket.
If they slow the crap down, and if they patiently set up Gasol, and if Bynum has at least an average rebounding game, the Lakers are in a good position to win what will very likely be a close game.

I like the what the Bulls did to the Cavs by throwing everyone they had at Lebron and forcing him to take jump shots all game but I don't see Phil doing that.
I've been waiting for this game for months. Lebron is my favorite player in the NBA besides any Laker. Ariza won't be able to stop him and Kobe was never able to, so we will probably have to double team him.
Also, I like how everyone on here loves to call LeBron "overhyped". That's BS, look at his team, his supporting players are nowhere near as good as the one's Kobe has. Yet they've been able to demolish all teams including major players from the West and the top teams in their own conference. Overhyped my ass, thats just what blind Kobe homers love to say.

Wow, how insulting. You're comparing Lebron to what, the 2nd or 3rd greatest power forward of all time? Which kind of, by default, sort of puts him up there with the 10 or 15 best players all time.
I mean if you're going to insult the guy, do it right, like, oh, Lebron is nothing more than Spencer Haywood or, I don't know, how about Orlando Woolridge with a perimeter game?

I wouldn't do a pick and roll with anyone guarded by Ben Wallace.. he's been playing amazing help defense lately. _________________ 60!
