I prefer another rival. We need HCA to win this title. Lebron + refs would be too much... |
agree ,it is kobe against 6 man team |

To be fair, Lakers only had 1 more foul than the Jazz, so it wasn't like the disparity was THAT big. Lakers had a couple plays where they got phantom calls too. |
I didn't say the jazz got away with anything either. Just the refs not calling this like a playoff game. Plus I doubt well have the same equality when in Utah. _________________ On pick and roll defense.

More like Bulls vs. Blazers. |
I agree. There is no rivalry... Only one produced by ESPiN HYPE. |

Good game, but there are a lot of things the Lakers can work on, which is crazy after such a dominant game. Defense can be worked on, there were multiple times the Jazz got open looks, but they just couldn't answer. Did a great job on Deron Williams, but I feel for this guy. He set his teammates up for some amazing looks and they couldn't get it done.
I like the controlled pace of the game. Kobe didn't try to do too much and it came easy to him. The only time he tried to do a little too much was during the end of the game trying to attack AK. Kirilenko did have some nice on ball defense at the end. His long arms disrupt Kobe. |

Shannon Freaking Brown, Trevor the Cobra, Lamar, late-game Kobe, nice job! That's win 1! 15 more!!
I'm a bit nervous when Bynum, Gasol and Odom get 16 fouls between them. I also have to wonder how the Milsap can continuously get in position for offensive rebounds with no adjustment from the Lakers the whole game. If the Lakers can address those two factors we blow out the Jazz in Game 2.
Nothing today to change my mind; Lakers in 5. |

Just got back from the game. Nice eergy in the building today...I actually got to sit in the lower level. From this view Shannon Brown looked like a beast. Knocking down his J and playing solid D on Deron. Bynums body language isnt where it should be YET. Pau is one quick 7 footer. Actually got to say wats up to his brother along with, Kanye West, Jack, Eddie Murphy. It was great. _________________ What I'm doing right now, I'm chasing perfection.

I watched the game on TV, and it seemed as if you could hear a pin drop during most of the game. Where were our fans? But then I could hear our fans cheering loudly for tacos at the end, so I know it wasn't just the acoustics being lowered for TV.

Staples is notoriously quiet on t.v. I heard an interview a week or two ago with Mike Breen where he said that Staples got a bad rap and was on of the more raucous one he covered (this was also on a national show so it wasn't pandering to the home guys). _________________ On pick and roll defense.

Hmm...I wonder why this is, then? Because I could hear our fans cheering loudly for tacos at the end, but during most of the game I couldn't hear as much fervor. I wonder why this is so. |

Anyone else not satisfied with this win? We had them down by 22 at half and I could already smell a signature "Laker collapse." Down by 22, you have to go for the jugular and push it to 30, instead, we let them get it back down to 9 and then proceed to limp our way to a victory. That's not going to fly against better teams. |

That's not the way these Lakers work. As the competition gets better, so do the Lakers. Now if we were playing the bobcats... _________________ https://psntrophyleaders.com/user/view/tenike1

I'm not very happy with our win today. Needless to say our defense was weak. We fouled way too much as you can see from gasol having fouled out. We need to limit layups and wide open jumpshots. If they start draining it, they could go on a run. I dont think the lakers offense run so smoothly with bynum and gasol together on the floor. It seems very stagnant. But game 2 we need to control the paint and get offensive rebounds. They are playing a slow paced game which favors lakers obviously. |
