And if Phil Jackson's team history is considered, LA will win Game 4 as well.
1997- Hawks win Game 2, Bulls win Games 3 and 4 in Atlanta
1998 - Hornets win Game 2, Bulls win Games 3 and 4 in Charlotte
2002 - Spurs win Game 2, Lakers win Games 3 and 4 in San Antonio
This series has that kind of feel like Jackson's teams listed above. |
very unESPN like Rockets fan. |

Gotta agree; even though his stats didn't look that impressive, Bynum's 12 minutes were effective this time. That's a big switch from any of his prior playoff games. |

They said he was 6-13 at one point, including 0-4 from inside the paint. I think he didn't have any free throws yet at that point. That means Kobe was 6-9 shooting jumpers and 0-4 with zero free throws from getting hacked in the paint.
Hrmmm, wouldn't you shoot jumpers too? |

Bleeping BS.
It's ridiculous that he has to "stop driving" because the refs for whatever reason refuse to give him calls when any other "superstar" would get those calls.
Where is the fairness in that? _________________ I miss you Kobe. I miss you Gigi. |

Refs did fine. They don't seem to ever call Defensive 3 but otherwise, I thought they called a great game.
Lakers only got a few fouls on the Rockets because the Rockets were all sitting in the paint all game. 15-20 foot jumpshots were WIDE OPEN all night as well as the 3 point line.
The refs called Hayes and Lowry for loose ball pushing fouls almost as soon as those guys entered the game. That set the tone that the refs weren't gonna let a lot of inside physical wrestling go on as happened in games 1 and 2.
So my only complaint about the refs was the lack of D3 calls - Houston always has a guard/forward standing in the paint just below the free throw line not guarding anybody. This is to prevent any drive penetration but is completely illegal. You have to be "actively guarding" somebody to stand in the paint. |

Both teams ended up with 22 PF to end the game, thought it best to mention it so this topic doesn't look onesided. |

Have you notice this whole series, it looks like Bynum doesn't even want to have the ball and doesn't even try to post up. What makes me so irritated is that most of the time Bynum is guarded by smaller big men like Carl Landry, Chucky Hayes and Luis Scola which he doesn't take advantage of it...How will Bynum get his confident back and get out of a slump without even trying? |

Sasha's "foul" on Wafer's three was one of the worst calls I've ever seen. |

Hard to post up against Houston because they usually have 4 guys in the paint all the time.
But, yeah, I'd like to see Bynum at least try to get deep post position to setup the triangle. He is always up at the elbow instead. |

Bynum is just too slow. He swings his arms too much that it slow down his post move. Usually by the time when he established his post pivot, another person usually come into and strip him of the ball. |

I doubt it. It'll get harder.
But the Show needs to close out this series. More rest the better. _________________ *sighs*

Nope. Every series is going to get progressively harder. |

Good point.
1. AB doesn't get deep post position: i think he's not fast enough up the floor and the rockets are strongly protecting post position
2. Often times he's high on the post to try and open up the lanes for others: also a good move imho. |

I'd be happy with him scoring with his teammates creating easy shots for him, getting offensive/defensive rebounds, and protecting the paint. |

Bynum fronted Yao all night and played great defense against him. Unfortunately, this doesn't show up in the stats. Yeah, I'd like to see a little more production out of him. But I'm not disappointed at all with how he played.
My only complaint is that I wish Phil put in Bynum instead of Powell in those stretches when Odom was out. |

I'd like to see Pau or Bynum pick n roll with Kobe. Rockets could not defend that because Yao won't come out of the paint. If Yao does come out, that would free up the paint a little bit for penetration. |

I really wish the league would not allow players to jump to the side to force a foul call. I've always hated that call. |

why do posters make threads after a victory that no one but kobe knows the answer too...plus he only did in once this game _________________ RIP.....Pop (AJ Sr.) 7/09/23-01/20/09

Wafer has been abusing that call for awhile now. He doesn't jump vertically. He completely sprawls himself sideways and slams into the defender flying by. |
