ACTUALLY, the best lineup would be Bynum, Gasol, LO, Artest, Kobe.
Artest, Kobe, and Lamar can handle the ball. i think kobe and Artest can guard the point.
lol that would be a sick lineup, but we'd be a bit slow to get back on D lol _________________ KobeDunk wrote:

IMO, Artest is much better than Ariza. He was abusing Ariza until Yao went down and we started to send hard-doubles at him. Ariza also got abused by Carmelo quite a bit, until we again sent the hard-doubles. Finally, he got abused by Hedo, albeit with single-coverage.
I say go after him now. Ariza is not that good that we should have to wait for him to make a decision. |

We know that isn't true.
As for Artest's agent, he has been saying the same thing for years, yet somehow the Lakers seem to avoid bringing him in. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

For all the talk about Ron to Lakers (and there's been a lot of it over the years), I don't think the Lakers have ever been serious suitors. _________________ So glad we gave you your flowers while you were here, Kobe. |

Yeah, the best lineup is with LO at the 3, despite him not playing Small Forward for the entire season.
The best lineup was with a healthy Bynum at Center, Pau at Power Forward and Odom coming off the bench. It's somewhat debatable whether LO/Gasol is a better starting than Bynum/Gasol, but LO at the 3? Come on. WHEN WILL IT STOP???? |

Artest is a time-bomb waiting to go off at any moment,with no real warning....He is a roll of the dice,does a Championship team risk a team chemistry explosion ?
Without doubt he is a better player than Ariza is,or ever will be.Ariza is good,and will probably get better,but he will not be on Ron's level...Our window is now,and he fits now,it's just the risk you take with his mentality.....
Deep down the safer bet,and perhaps even better than Ariza would be........ A tandem signing of Kleiza and Barnes to share the 3 spot,Stick them in a 3 man rotation with Kobe,offer them both 24 to 30 minutes per game on a true Championship team,playing alongside stars like Kobe,and Pau. Kleiza and Barnes can also spell Kobe for a few minutes at the 2,and Sasha, and Luke can go deeper down the bench..... |

That would be awesome if we could sign Artest and Sheed. But at the same time, I like Ariza's youth. So I'm up in the air on this one.
I think we gotta stick with Ariza. LO I couldn't care less about. Sheed would be a good fit. |

Artest is an egomaniacal cancer. What he offers in raw talent he takes away with locker room destruction and off the floor distraction. Artest will stay with the Rockets for some reason, even if Ariza doesn't pan out. As of right now I can see LO coming back but I think it's unlikely that Ariza stays with this team, I think he'll go to the highest bidder. _________________ "We are the goodest." - Shaq ESPN interview |

well, maybe not great...but he's a very good 3 point shooter. he shot 40 percent from 3 this last year.
Lakers have avoided him because they never wanted to trade LO for him. _________________ KobeDunk wrote:

Or D. George. Supposedly that is all it would have taken to get him, but the Lakers weren't even interested at that cheap price.
Supposedly the Rockets have offered Gortat the full MLE, they obviously haven't given up after losing McGrady and Yao. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Please chime in.
Artest
===================
- Proven shooter
- Stronger
- Create own shots
- Can guard 2, 3 & some 4
Ariza
===================
- longer athlete
- quicker
- better slasher
If we can sign both for the same annual salary, I feel more comfortable offering long term deal to Artest. |

Artest - black hole, proven team cancer, top notch defense is in the past
Ariza - good system player, long, fast, top notch defense is in the future
And more importantly, Artest thinks he is a top 3 player in the league, while Ariza knows his role. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Ariza all day. Yes, please and thank you.

First thing that comes to ming is Artest in a Lakers jersey, melting down against Peirce in the 2010 NBA Finals, the same way he did with Kobe this year in the playoffs, and the scary thing is he likes Kobe. _________________ Basketball is a sport that involves the subtle interweaving of players at full speed to the point where they are thinking and moving as one. - Phil Jackson |
