what can you do. 18k in the house, legit teams are losing, won't hurt the lakers in the standing much, cavs get to keep their home court advantage. Just what the Stern wants.
The defense was a big problem today but I don't know if I'm disappointed with that. The Lakers can't guard good PG's and they can't guard 3's. It shouldn't be surprising to see both burn them tonight. Laker's D in these cases is just praying the other team misses open shots, which is clearly not ideal.
Other than that, Lakers continue to have a hard time against small teams. LA makes a few 3's and then spends a good chunk of the game just chucking more. It's almost baffling how little this team exploits their size advantage. Either teams are now wise to their mediocre perimeter shooting % that they can afford staying inside and denying the entry pass, or they just catch some lazy Lakers O looking to shoot a quick 3 over running the offense.
Artest's struggles shooting 3's doesn't help either. The Lakers need whatever they can to space the floor. Teams seeing LA can't shoot from out there makes it that much easier to clog the paint and deny the high % look.

BI-POLAR TEAM!!!
Excuse me? This is what happens when the other team has a capable point-guard.
And the Lakers not doing anything about their issues before the deadline.
I'm not arguing with either of you... I'm just referring to the fact that one night this team looks good, and the next night they look like utter garbage.
LO was terrible.
Brown was terrible
Mbenga and Josh Powell were not existent.
Farmar can't play any defense on Paul. _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. meh another game where the other teams has a field day with the calls.
it was a pretty obvious loss when i saw one of those major bogus calls to prevent one team from scoring. it was the first quarter and artest ended up getting position for an open layup and wouldn't you know it whilstle blows and its offensive 3 sec.
Two ongoing problems with the Lakers is that Fisher's efficiency goes down when he shoots a lot (30% when he shoots 10 or more), and that the Lakers shoot too many threes (top ten in the league) when they have one of the worst 3 point shooting percentages (bottom ten). The Lakers shoot above their average three point attempts when they lose while their 3-point shooting percentage is lower in their losses.
So what happens tonight? Fisher chucks up eleven shots, making three (27%), including one of seven threes (14%), and the team attempts ten more threes than their season average, and their three point efficiency drops below their season average.
This game is pretty meaningless cuz we already basically have the West locked up and we're not gonna catch Cleveland any way.
People keep forgetting Orlando. Only 2 games back. I'd be pretty pissed if they managed to knock off Cleveland and LA still didn't have HCA.
Your assuming they're beating Boston. We can win in Orlando, we did it last year, we'll do the same. This team is just waiting for the playoffs.
Great we should just sleepwalk through every game down the stretch, that's the kind of momentum we need I think it's safe to say that Cle and Orl are a cut above Boston, who appears to be a shell of the 08 team.
